@@hardwiredtoselfdestruction3401 greens are very easy to grow. You can grow them in containers also. They are what is called a cut and come vegetable. If you don't pull it out the ground, but cut off what you need, they will keep on growing. Best to plant them very early spring, and then again late summer. They are a cool weather crop, that I pull mine out the ground, around Thanksgiving, and they are cooked and served for Thanksgiving dinner. They freeze very well. Just wash, chop and put in freezer bags, uncooked, until ready to use. If you cook extra, you can freeze the leftovers, in a freezer safe container. I make my greens just like hers. I don't use any kind of meat, just add seasonings and herbs. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but don't eat large portions of meat, or meat everyday.

My dad used to have a beautiful garden just like urs: greens, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, squash...but triflin' a** neighbors started stealing from it & kinda broke his spirit 😡 All they had to do was ask & he would've been happy & proud for them to enjoy something he'd grown himself. As a child my father had a garden n he would grow so much we would have to give greens away. He also grew 🌶 squash 🍅 cucumbers okra 🍐 🌳 he made his own hot sauce. He taught me how to make pickles n I sold them during the summer. Best time of my life

I have a small area on the side of my carport; I'm about to plant some collard greens on Monday. Can't wait till I can grow them and EAT them. I had planted carrots and OKRA and tomatoes; fortunately only my okra came up; plus a few other tomatoes.I am a STONE BEGINNER at gardening!! But I am going to continue to try! There is so much to learn in the garden world, but you will get There. Cucumbers, Tomatoes And Peppers I find are very easy To grow. I start everything from Seeds, including onions. When you Plant your own food you don't have To worry about chemicals and stale Vegas. Good luck with your planting!

You might see a revival of home gardens. It's so much better than the poisoned foods we buy at grocery stores. Several are full of neurotoxins and other harmful additives. A home garden is so rewarding.

Oh yes, my grandmother 💖🌞 & great grandmother 💖 grew food 🥝 & 😂 flowers 💐🌹🌹 every where they lived . We would be better off to go back to those good old traditional family goals and can them in the jars & stock up on healthy food for at least a year as our folks use to do. Community gardens would be a great start to gather & do & end hunger in communities. Starting one in big pots on the patio too ! ❤️ Pray 🙏😅👍

I ate my first pot of my own grown green beans last year and Idk if I was just excited or what, but best green beans ever! My son is growing beets, we've got all kinds of sht about to be growing. It's addictive and peaceful growing food you can get the whole family involved. My hubby is usually a meat and potatoes type man, now he loves vegetables.

The harder thing for me is having time with work and three children to properly learn kiswahili. It is my goal so I can enjoy going home with them as a family.

@Regina Novy I agree. Those collards were huge. I get so distanced from actual food cycles and food that I forget how things can be more natural. For now, I can go to spring “Farmer’s Markets” which are abundant here and choose organic fare for some veggies at grocery stores 🪴🙂
