Hey guys! I haven't uploaded in a while but here is a cover of a classic song that I want to share with you! I recently took part in May 2024's challenge in the We Are The Music Makers Discord server. The goal was to cover a song written before the 1900s. I have always loved Greensleeves and I thought it would be cool if I covered it in my own style, so that's what I did!
I started with playing the verse on my classical guitar, which seemed fitting. I tuned down to D standard tho, since I liked how it sounded in that tuning. I then basically "metal-ified" it. Big power chords, heavy crash cymbal beat, double bass, chugging riffs and the melody played in octaves. I then added some strings, choir, and synths to beef it up a little. Also, this was the first time recording my nylon string in my "studio" (glorified bedroom :D ) so I hope it sounds good! The only mic I have is my Shure SM58 but it turned out alright with the nylon guitar I think.
