Ahmad Ridley Maybe Foxworth is salty because he never stood out as a player. Maybe he’s projecting his disrespect towards Eli because he himself is jealous of all the attention and accomplishments Eli had earned in the league, in which Foxworth had never came within a fraction of that. Those Ravens defenses that he played on, I could name more than several players who stood out the most before I come to his name. He was a decent player as a cornerback, but he was never a guy that most QB’s feared going against like an Ed Reed or Jimmy Smith. He was just an average, complimentary player. A JAG ( Just A Guy). Eli may not have been a great QB, but he has more than accomplished enough in the league that commands respect. For average players like those current ESPN mouthpieces Ryan Clark and Domonique Foxworth to go on the air and voice their usual disrespect towards Eli, only reflects not only jealousy, but the unhappiness and dissatisfaction of how their playing careers had turned out compared to Eli.

Coming from a lifelong Giants fan I can tell you watching Eli play was the biggest rollercoaster experience I've ever had in sports. Some days you wanted to scream at Eli for what he would do with his ball security or you would go nuts from seeing his casual expressionless face after a horrible pick but I'm telling you that man was either the greatest poker face of all time or just a machine, he would throw a pick six on the previous drive, be completely unfazed by it, and then the following drive he would straight up not miss a single throw and march down the field for a GW. The dude was clutch when it really mattered and it felt like as the season would get longer he would just get stronger and more accurate, not to mention he did it all in the toughest place to make it, the biggest city in the US with the most criticism over anything, I mean the NY/NJ media are like sharks with blood in the water, they will eat you alive if they find anything that could make you look bad. He was never cocky and always a humble guy, the perfect player as a coach to have and always ready to play, no matter what injury was nagging him. And for the people that say he got lucky for his first Superbowl because of the "helmet catch"... Okay, so then he got lucky winning the SB in 2011 for being 'carried' by his 25th ranked defense and 32nd ranked rush offense, right? Not because he was top 5 in passing that year, right? Luck nets you not one but two Superbowl MVPs, right? And he must have got lucky too for not missing a single start to injury in his 16 year NFL career? That's why he passed in the top 10 for many of the major stats, right? Luck gets you all those passing accomplishments? Luck helped him throw all those yards and TDs right? Eli is a HOFer. You can debate if he's a good QB or a great QB but either way he's getting into the Hall because you can't tell the story of the biggest moments in NFL history without talking about Eli numerous times. Also sorry for the rant, just think it's silly how we need to debate a 2 time Superbowl MVP on whether or not he deserves to go into the Hall when there are guys in the Hall for far less. If anything we should either rewrite the standards for the Hall or create a separate Hall of Fame for Hall of famers but I mean either way I think it's ridiculous that we even need to have this conversation haha

I'll concede the Tyree catch to luck, though I don't think there was any other option at that point in the game and the throw was accurate, but it didn't win the game. The game winning td was a perfectly placed ball to Plax. You know... Cause the defense gave up the lead late and Eli had to bale them out. Manningham was a correct read and great play. If you claim luck to that play, I don't agree.

I have been a Giant fan since before these pundits were born. When Eli was drafted by the Giants, the roster sucked. Quite frankly, during Eli's entire career, the Giant roster has been average, at best. There are easily 10 teams playing today, that have much better rosters than Eli ever had to work with, yet he carried the team to 2 super bowl wins. That is an amazing accomplishment that few, if any other QBs ever achieve. The criticism of Eli is misplaced. Before this season started, ALL of these 'geniuses' put Cleveland in the competition to reach the super bowl. Talk was heard everywhere, Baker Mayfield is a record breaking QB. I will take anyone's bet, that Baker Mayfield NEVER, NEVER reaches the achievements of Eli Manning. We live in a very short term focused world. Not good.

There are a lot of QB’s in the Pro Football HOF that didn’t have gaudy stats (the ones that come to mind are Terry Bradshaw, Bart Starr, and Troy Aikman.) so, I disagree 100 percent with Foxworth’s assessment on Eli Manning (plus I never liked so that adds to it.) He’s probably won’t be a first-ballot HOFer (like his brother, Tom Brady, Brees or Rodgers) but he’ll get into the HOF. And for those who complain about Eli's stats aren't anything special, he's currently seventh all-time in both passing touchdowns (366) and passing yards (57023) and that's more than Johnny Unitas, John Elway, Joe Montana, Warren Moon, Fran Tarkenton and Jim Kelly in both categories.

Everybody likes to talk about Aaron Rodgers and the "clutch gene". So what is a Hall Of Fame QB? It's not all just about record and and stats. In 2011, Aaron Rodgers had all of the stats. The Packers went 15-1 and had a first-round bye, meanwhile Eli and the Giants were 9-7 and luckily won their division with that record. In the playoffs, when it matter, Eli Manning and the Giants went into Lambeau Field and absolutely crushed the Packers 37-20. Crushed them by 17 points. The Giants and Eli would go on to win their second Super Bowl in 4 years. That's what a HoF QB does. Show up when it matters. People like to talk about Aaron Rodgers, well what about Mathew Stafford? Stafford has also always been a stat-sheet master. It manifested in 3 playoff berths and zero playoff wins. Would you place Stafford over Eli in the HoF conversation just because of Stafford's statistical efficiency in the regular season? Of course not.

Bradshaw was miles better than Eli, he was a vocal leader, he called his own plays and could become a playmaker when necessary. Put some respect on his name. Back then, the NFL didn't open up the passing game like it has today. Defenses were allowed to kill any player in motion. Bradshaw is the architect of 4 super bowls he lead, a dynasty & he was steel tough on the field of play. Bradshaw was tough, physical & hard to bring down and he could knock defenders over when he ran. Pipe down Bradshaw is one of the die hard legends. The Steeler dynasty was better than the Patriots in terms of brutality & instilling fear into opponents. QBs like Eli, Peyton & Brady are playing in the NFL's most protected era. Contrast that, with Bradshaw who played QB in the NFL's most violent & dangerous era and it ain't close. Had Eli played with no O-line in Bradshaw's era well you'd visit his tombstone. The bad old '70's is when football became the top sport in America thanks to QBs like Bradshaw.
