Karl’s film idea has just been used in Black Mirror, Season 4, Episode 6 -‘Black Museum’. It also features another one of his ideas from the early 2000s about a machine that can let a doctor feel what a patient is feeling. Genius

When Karl said that we have a brain in our stomach he had obviously misunderstood something he heard. Your stomach actually works independently to your brain so your brain may not interface with the stomach of a quadraplegic but it will still be able to process food. Some scientists have dubbed the stomach as a very primative brain.
