I love the version they do on their "King Biscuit Flower Hour" cd with Joe Satriani in the band then. It looks like Greg Kihn only hires exceptional guitarists 'cause this dude here is shredding too!!!

Damn that solo guitarist sounds so great!...Reminds me of SRV a bit, but with more legato and minor scale stuff rather than just pentatonic. Great perfomance

I saw him sing this on New Years Eve at the Cow Palace in San Francisco 1981. Montrose played after him. I miss those days! Great Concert!

They sound great, but i don't understand how the other lead guitarists could play the coolest part of the well known riff so quietly at the intro, and throughout. He is obviously very talented.

@@OVI-Wan-Kenobi-8 I think Michael is referring to the fact that at almost every concert now everyone in the audience is recording instead watching the show and living in the moment. That happens even at shows where the venue has professionals recording from several different angles and with quality audio gear.

Interesting! They're tuned down a whole step to play it in G minor rather then A minor like they used to. Age takes its toll. Still sounds good, just a little odd. I could get used to it.

No. Original bass player Steve Wright died in 2017. Guitarist Dave Carpender died in 2007. Keyboardist Gary Phillips died in 2007. Larry Lynch, drums, left the band in 86. Greg Douglass, guitar, left in 86. Far from the original, his son Ry plays lead now. This band has had many incarnations. I saw them in 86 when Joe Satriani was on lead and Tyler Eng was on drums.
