Love this style. Photography is becoming a “try hard” environment which takes away all the fun for me. I’m having a blast snapping moments and perspectives and barely or not even editing my Fuji jpegs and they look great for the “real world beautiful” kinda style I like. Would love to try the q 2 in the same way.

It’s an ok camera but he is an awesome photographer . It’s the person behind the camera who makes a good camera, that’s why Leica ain’t t never given me a Q2 to try out! Great work Greg, if you read this and I am in no way criticising you or the cam. God Bless.

Just based on this video, i think the camera is okay, as i feel that some of these shots are slightly out of focus. No one would notice for social media as the composition/subject matters more. I am guessing the best of canon, nikon and sony would have got a higher hit rate for perfect focus on the eyes? Like he said when you only have a few seconds to capture your subject, you better ensure the autofocus works fast to capture the expression perfectly and eyes open!

This camera is awesome, but a camera alone is an inanimate object. Those people are well payed to tell us a nice story and persuade us that their talent comes from the product. When you get a look to the most prestigious photographes' gear, you realize that each of them used different brand with equal success. They chose the gear that suits their purpose. Period.

I'm looking forward to getting the Q2. I need a case to keep the camera from getting banged up when it's not in my hands. A nice elegant vertical-carry case with shoulder strap like Leica makes for their other compact cameras. Putting this jewel of a camera into the old clunker "ever ready" case (which protects the lens) is a travesty, and the "holster" case is a bad joke (ruined my Leica T).

So give me that camera and ill get shots like greg? 🤔🤔 I think not. Its down to the photographers inter personal skills and visualisation. The camera allows him to record this, however cheaper cameras may not give him the quality required. Ue could shoot on a dslr qnd get the same results

@@DavidHDennis Then you are the ONE that got the good one , mine and so many people's were garbage - endless dust issues , software glitches and generally poor performance. Sorry but the Q is a terrible camera build quality wise - end of!

@@dalethorn2 I'm afraid that's rubbish ,I hoped for a camera that could keep dust out ( not much to ask for in a fixed lens camera) and for one where the firmware was not written by a 5 year old. The internet is full of such woes with the Q and many other Leica models with even worse issues. Leica has a real QC issue I'm afraid and no amount of bluster will cover that up. I've owned many Leica cameras ,but never again. They now seem to base their marketing and products to the same people who would buy Apple phones - those blinded by badge loyalty and image rather than capabilities and quality. Shame .....

@@paulnewman9275 Hey Paul. I don't think there's a need to rant everything and drag other brands in as well. I think Dale made a good point, the camera wasn't dust and waterproof, so that's probably why you weren't happy about it. And about iPhones, they are great, I switched to them after being an Android lover and never looked back. The point I'm trying to make is that nothing is perfect and nothing is designed for everyone. If it's not for you then don't use it, there's no point to attack the customer. I gotta be honest, I never met someone who used Leica camera behave as you do on this kind of matters.

Technically, a lot of blurry images, and was he shooting with BW jpegs? The Q2 is definitely capable of capturing technical better images, but Mr. William is capable of capturing great moments. Perhaps not the best advertisement for Q2, but great learning from the photographer.

I think that motion blur was a Shutter Speed he shot at on purpose to capture motion. Out of focus is not the same thing as motion blur. To keep the ISO low you would need to have a slower shutter speed anyway.

Photography has become a truly subjective field. Take away Mr. Williams' name and don't mention Leica, then review the images taken. Will they still have the same impact? Right now they're great because they're taken by Greg Williams, but some of the shots have too-slow shutters and overexposures (the shot with Mahershala Ali and Viola Davis). I get that the best are able to shoot what they like and people will eat that up. If a college grad shot this way, he wouldn't find a job. Subjective.
@user-jo8nj

the leica q2 has really bad af and a very narrow dof close distance, so any blur you see could also be from that and not just the shutter speed, but I agree

of course there are double standards when it comes to big names - but iconic images never were about technical perfection in the first place. same has to be said about the camera aswell: who would spend 6000$ for a camera with a fixed prime lens? you could buy yourself into a much more versatile system for that very same budget. it‘s emotion. and the emotion extending your eye will make you capture life. maybe that‘s a little too romantic or even a pathetic way to look at it for you, but for some it won‘t.

@@eatshrots Ah, but my dear Watson, the focus is just part of the inner working of each portraiture. Your subject is moving and you're moving. Anything can happen, but the end result should speak to the viewer and tell the story. BW at post was the way to go to minimize the cringe from the bad lighting from those events where the photos were taken.
