I was fortunate enough to get to review this new line coming very soon to store shelves called Gregarious Grump. It’s a brand created by Kristopher Hart in Houston, Texas and it’s going to focus on sourcing all types of spirits, as long as they’re aged in wood. And no matter their source, they’ll all be bottled uncut & unfiltered as single barrels. Kris is no inexperienced guy either, he’s the host of The Whiskey Neat show/podcaast on ESPN 97.5 FM in Houston, and his Houston Whiskey Social is one I look forward to every year. The initial launch will unfortunately be Texas only, but he hopes to expand to other states in the future. Retail pricing is reported to be between $100 & $125 for the initial 6 rums released.
The five I'm reviewing are:
Guyana 16 Year from Diamond Distillery - Distilled in 2003 - 97.6 Proof - 180 Bottles
Guyana 16 Year from Diamond Distillery - Distilled in 2003 - 104.2 Proof - 205 Bottles
Guyana 16 Year from Diamond Distillery - Distilled in 2003 - 109 Proof - 222 Bottles
Barbados 12 Year from Foursquare Distillery - Distilled in 2007 - 126.4 Proof - 222 Bottles
Belize 14 Year Rum from Travellers Distillery - Distilled in 2006 - 130.2 Proof - 250 Bottles
As of July 2020, my current bottle count is over 2,500. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been accredited by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). I've been actively collecting for more than two decades and what started as a small basic home bar has transformed (with the help and understanding of my wonderful wife) into this collection and career.
