Thank you sir and yes Livescope is a great tool , but a lot of people think that it’s cheating but it does not make the fish bite had several days I’ve been skunked or only caught a few after fishing all day

Welp looks like you have the entire body of water to yourself just about...I heard another boat in the distance! Fabulous segment you are running those long rods "Extraordinary" I smashed the thumbs up button and subbed to show support.

Thank you sir. There were about 15 boats on the lake that day and it was bitter cold but a lot of fun.

Thinking about coming up in a couple weeks and spider rigging with my brother. Any particular areas you recommend in late February? I'm assuming creek runs? Thanks
@accarpenter88

That would definitely be my suggestion and to try the flats off to the sides of the creek mouths feeding the lake.

How's the bass fishing down there on that lake? I grew up on Sardis, but I've never fished Grenada. It's not a far drive for me coming from Memphis. I'd like to hear what your thoughts are on the lake. I know it's a lot bigger than Sardis.

I really don’t know I have caught a few ok large mouth bass while crappie fishing and know that some nice ones have come out of Grenada but I have never targeted them, I wish I could give you more information on the large mouth.

Update one of my co workers says spring time on north side of lake next to where some of the creeks feed in can be really good, and surprise I have targeted the same area for crappie in the spring. Hope this helps

I've never been on this lake but going to try it March 29th for a couple days. Are the main channels buoyed so you don't run into shallow waters or stump beds?
@accarpenter88
Жыл бұрын
Negative it’s been on my list to do a video about this but you definitely need some type of lake charts, I use humminbird to see the depths, but also depending on water level which is very low right now, once you get out of the main lake there are stumps everywhere and some concrete column and old road beds so know where your going and keep it slow

Damn Dude smokin them! How does this lake compare to Reel foot? You using minnows?

I was that day tipped on a hair jig, but really don’t think I needed them I just came prepared. And I wish I could tell you but I haven’t been able to make my way up to reel foot YET!!! But that is a trip I want to make in the future.

How did you all catch fish before forward facing sonar? Just troll around spider ringing? Does anyone troll cranks or that lake?
@accarpenter88
Жыл бұрын
Yes most of the year we trolled for crappie pushing jigs, or when the water got warm we would pull crank baits and still do I plan to do a video on that this summer.

Cool.. The reason I said that, is it looks like the fish are super spread out. Just roaming open mudd flats.. Without livescope it'd been tuff to jog those fish
@accarpenter88
Жыл бұрын
You are correct and before Livescope we would roam around and it helped to have buddies to kinda figure out what areas they were staged in. Covering lots of water was and is still key to success

Are fishing with the wind & on the trolling motor shaft? WTH???
@accarpenter88

At times yes depending on how fast the wind is blowing me but what you can’t see is I have power poles with drift paddles to slow me down. I can do A short video on them if you would like.

What rod are you using?

I like to use a BnM 14 foot diamond series and I have 2 16 foot BnM caps and Coleman rods I use also.. I am waiting on BnM to release their 16 foot black diamond pole in April i hope it feels just as good as the 14 foot one

I actually have a 13 and a 10 foot one but prefer my BnM poles I feel like I have more sensitivity with them and I feel like I don’t snatch the jig out of the crappies mouth near as much as I did when I was using the ACC stix

Negative that’s the BnM blue diamond 14ft and it’s a great rod I caught a lot of big crappie with it and it is very sensitive. I have since upgraded to the BnM black diamond 16 foot and it’s just that much better with the same sensitivity
