Once Meredith got in the water, she thought about getting out but she didnt bc she was depressed, she basically drowned herself. She comes really close to death but does survive. I also wondered why the kid never talked, but its a show, i wont get answers. Edit: Thank you for answering my question, i was genuinely curious 😭 Edit 2: I honestly thought i wouldnt get an answer, but now ive got many answers: selective mutism, autism, ptsd....many things this girl can have. I think she may actually be mute or autistic, but i really dont know fs. I also wasnt expecting so many comments and likes 😭😭 Edit 3: PLEASE stop fighting in the comments about if selective mutism is a choice or not! "Selective mutism is an anxiety disorder in which a person who is otherwise capable of speech becomes unable to speak when exposed to specific situations, specific places, or to specific people, one or multiple of which serving as triggers. This is caused by the freeze response." Selective mutism ISNT a choice. I looked it up, stop fighting about it. Also, over 9K likes?! YOOO! Thats crazyyyyy. Just remember to be respectful and keep in mind others feelings and how they might feel about something. I ALSO looked up why the little girl was not talking, she is simply traumatized to the extent her brain is trying to process whats going on, its not selective mutism, it is simply trauma induced mutism. Also, yes, she was seperated from her mom, im pretty sure her mom finds her, but that girl is gonna need a life time of therapy. Edit 4: 18k?!!!??!? Awesome!! Also...those who are bothered by my three, now four edits, get ready to be bothered again. 🤣 Most of you love it, some of you hate it...here it is...Edit 5: (Editing the 5th one bc it was QUITE lengthy, ill keep it simple) 1. Im not lonely, i do in fact live with 5 people, i do have friends and i do have a lot of time on my hands. No, likes doesnt mean im famous or anything, no, its not a compliment. But the fact i got to 23k is HILARIOUS, cuz i wasnt expecting it. Report it all you want, i do not care, you literally mean nothing to me (the haters) and youre just a stranger. Ya'll are funny asf, love the hate comments. Also, congrats! You have issues. I want to thank you all, genuinely, those who find my edits entertaining, im glad you enjoy the numbers lmaoooo!! In this scene Meredith basically intentionally giving up on swimming and letting herself die. But in reality this wouldn’t be possible. You can become suicidal but if it’s not an instant death your body won’t allow it. You could jump into the water and try to let yourself sink and drown all you want. But if you are still conscious, once you start running out of air your body will instinctively start fighting with everything it has to stay alive, in this case it would be to swim up to the surface. Seriously it’s literally impossible no matter how much you want to die, your human instincts won’t allow it to happen unless you’re tied to something heavy to keep yourself from swimming up etc.

So in real life, first thing you do is make sure the scene is safe. A medic should never let themselves between a patient in the water like that with no room to move. Ideally you would move the patient away from the water to stop stuff like that from happening. Also you would like to remove obstacles that may be a potential hazard. Then when the scene is safe you may try to help the patient and/or patients

They were on sight of a ferry crash and the man she was helping pushed her in. She fought at first but then gave in (she had been thinking of suicide and death lately). He pulls her out and she lives of course.

I've always wondered why people called him McDreamy, I could never see it. But the show is good.
