I noticed that Kalvin is probably the most humble gangster in this move. Got beat by Roger in his sleep, was friendly towards Willie until he realized he was being looked at foul, easily admits crying over his friend. It doesn't go into detail how his life in the gang was but he is acting like a gangster who just wants to leave while Willie is the one that is actively embracing it

I've always loved this movie, especially for this scene with Junior, takes a very serious moment in a man's life to come to the mental realization that time waits for NOBODY. On a day like his son's 2nd birthday where a young boy would love nothing but to see his mother AND father happily getting along, showing him love and affection on his special day. Unfortunately for the both of them Junior isn't there to provide that feeling of love and that void hit Junior right in the heart. It takes a REAL MAN to acknowledge the selfish error of his ways in his life to change and become a better person, not just for himself but for the betterment of his loved ones as well. Although I know nothing about it personally, just seeing it from afar, a male growing up without a father or male figure in their life is generally a recipe for disaster. Kudos to the actor playing Junior for truly embracing this role and understanding the emotional turmoil that the real Junior must’ve been going through in that particular moment.!
