Take a ride along with me on the last session on Saturday afternoon at Gridlife Mid Ohio ‘24… at this point James Houghton had already ran way ahead of the rest of the class with a scorching 1:34.6 and then improved that by two more tenths this morning with a :34.4. Id finished the previous day with a :35.1 and ruined a lap that would’ve been at least .5 faster but made a big enough mistake in thunder valley to ruin the lap. Had to skip the sat morning session due to some ecu issues with the car so by the time this session came around I hadn’t been in the car for almost 24 hours. Knowing I needed to make something happen I pushed too hard on the first flyer into china beach and went 4 off into the grass wasting that lap and about half the session reporting to the hot pits. As Pete in grid was looking over my car and scooping the mounds of grass from my radiator he was stung by a bee that I’d scooped up. Sorry Pete lol. After I was rereleased back on track with a splitter half hanging off the bumper, and knowing I had only a couple laps to get something done, I managed to do just that… take the lap record from James and only by a couple hundredths of a second!
