This thing looks dope, almost definitely gonna get one (with your link ser). Couple questions: do you have to have one of those safecard actually in the Lattice1 to sign transactions? And does it connect to laptop via USB (bluetooth)?. Thanks
@JustinBram

No the lattice1 can function without a safecard. The safecard is a backup. It comes with 1 card to start. The device connects wirelessly over the internet

any chance you might discuss migrating from your ledger to your Lattice1?

Thanks for the great video Justin! Would you say that the safe cards could be a potential point of failure if card pins were compromised? seems like a 6 digit pin could be easier to compromise than a 12/24 words seed phrase thanks!

The Trezor Model T is pretty good visually, even for low vision and has a reputation for security. Also can copy as many seed phrases as you need and disguise them, store them on multiple memory sticks which are password or fingerprint protected etc etc. The Lattice looks good, but I do not like the idea of the card as it is hardware and the device is klunky. I think in the end banks will take custody of users crypto though regulation. Just my take.

can you use the polygon and harmony mainnet through this lattice1?

Great review. Thanks. Do you have to put the security card into the unit each time to sign a transaction or can you do it without the card in?

You forgot one of the biggest things with this hardware wallet, and that is the fact it is not cold storage. It has an RJ45 Ethernet port and even connects to 802.11 wifi. This is a hardware HOT wallet. As far as the safecards, they're "convenient", but they also require you to re-buy a Lattice1. Better off spending the money on a metal plate to store your mnemonic phrases instead of extra safecards. Also - and I do realize this video is a year old - but this product is $400 currently. So, you're paying $400 for a hardware HOT wallet, with a 5" touchscreen - which is nice, but you're paying $400 for a 5" monochromatic touch screen and we're in the year 2023 people - it takes up quite a bit of real estate on the desk. It isn't designed to be tucked away somewhere. It's just sitting there, right out in the open, which is also very contrary to the concept of a hardware wallet.

Right now it only supports ETH and Bitcoin. Or are u able to connect other tokens with the meta mask grid fork?

Would the lattice work with metamask wallets that have multiple accounts? Say I have a business wallet address and a personal wallet address under the same MM account, would those both be on the same card?

Could you set up a new wallet address for each safe card?

Yes a unique seed phrase on each card. Meaning infinite addresses on each card

@@JustinBram Only the Tokens in Ethereum network? Is it possible to add and tokens from Binance Network? They say they support the Metamask forked version. Is it possible to add new coins and send them like you used to send them using pancake swap for example? The normal Metamask in theory supports any coin or token, you need to just have the contract address of the token. Is it possible, just adding the contract address of any new token to send them in the Lattice1 wallet using pancake? The value in these hardware wallets is not only their security but and how many coins and tokens support and if they have the ability to add new tokens manually using their contract address.

Just a note on the ledger seed phrase. You can write down your ledger seed phrase and make as many paper copies as you like. You can reset your ledger and input a new seed phrase at any point. So you don't need multiple ledgers for seed phrase redundancy.

If you're comfortable storing your seed phrases on sheets of paper you don't need a Ledger either then? If you want to securely back up multiple seeds you'll need multiple Trezors, Ledgers, Keepkeys, etc..

@@HuxtableSweaters The reason for the hardware wallet isn't to remember seed phrases. It's to physically isolate seed phrases and private keys from the machine.

I wouldn't say that if the SD card is encrypted by the pin you set; however, having done quick research, only specialized encrypted USB sticks are the real deal for security. So probably the SD is as good as paper indeed.
