+mitsukipuki Just get the pan medium hot for 15-20 minutes......put a good amount of olive oil on the pan to coat it, not too much but enough to coat it. Butter the sides of two slices of white bread, white bread and put the bread butter side down and rotate a bit. Put two slices of sharp cheddar on each slice with a piece of white cheese on each side as well, swiss or provolone, and when the two pieces of bread are golden brown, flip them on top of eachother and then pull off the pan and let cool for 10-15 minutes. The texture between the crunch of the bread and the soft cheese, not HOT cheese, will make the perfect grilled cheese. Enjoy and do not over complicate

It's not a good recipe. They drowned the bread in oil and butter and put too much cheese in between. This is not how you make a grilled sandwich. Just butter two slices of bread, put a slice of processed cheese in between, then put it on a preheated skillet or a griddle. Fry for a bit, then flip it over, fry a bit more and it's done. Things don't have to be complicated.

i'm always dumbfounded by the fact that in the US grilled cheese r super popular yet its only in the Netherlands where we have 'tosti machines', basically allowing you to make a grilled cheese without having to use a pan. Saves any mess, any gas used and is just faster and easier, yet no one ever has those in the US seemingly or at least not as commonly?
@johnmekansi1230
3 жыл бұрын
I have it too, quite popular all around the world. Multiple reason for not using it, 1s the texture of the bread dosent comes out as good as on a pan or griddle. The second large surface is of griddle allows you to make multiple sandwich or other food products like burgers so restaurants prefer it. Ik you can get bigger ones as well, which can make like 4 at once, but again it comes down to versatility.
