I used to live round the corner from The Market Hotel many years ago. Me and my other half used to do our shopping in the morning at the weekend and we'd then often pop into this pub for a couple before heading home for the rest of the day. Seeing the Friar Tuck. Park Lane and the Strip along the Riverhead brought back some memories.

Great video Will. I love nostalgia but it does make me sad when I see what’s happened to our town. I frequented The Ropewalk when Steve Bratley’s old man had it. Used to go in there with Steve, playing pool. I was a regular in The Palace Buffet in the 90’s too. The Government are to blame for the demise of our pubs. They’ve priced publicans out of the game and allowed supermarkets to steal the march on alcohol prices where it is now cheaper to drink at home. One pub you didn’t go to that I really thought you would was The Foreshore on the Fitties. Now I do remember going there as a youngster. Keep these vids going Will. They’re great!

I went in all these pubs in my late teens , great times, unfortunate our useless council and deprivation due the fishing industry going down , has left our town in a shit state and made it the most deprived area , especially East marsh, in the U.K. I hate Grimsby now.

Drank in them all, back in the day. Some happy memories. The Longy use to be my local years ago. Use to go in the Imp before Town games. Please stop the background music, it detracts from your commentary and is very annoying!!!
