"digestive bitters are also relaxing nervines... bitters activate the digestive process, and that's part of the rest and digest function of the nervous system." That was a total aha moment for me! I always learn great information when listening to Lisa Ganora! Thank you so much Rosalee, your interviews are fabulous. You are a great listener and in turn ask great questions. I've learned so much from all of your generous free offerings.

It was also an 'aha' moment for me. Similarly, I had one of those moments over Lobelia inflata. I was experiencing some chest tightness due to severe long-term stress. I began experiencing anxiety attacks and the chest tightness went hand in hand with them. I tried several nervine herbs and some of them took the edge off and helped a little with anxiety, but it wasn't enough. One study led to another and I decided to try using Lobelia when I'd experience chest tightness along with anxiety attacks~~for it's antispasmodic property. It worked great for me and eased the uncomfortable chest tightness...but I also realized that it was helping me sleep more soundly. I asked my herbal mentor/teacher about this. Why would it help me rest when it's not really considered a nervine. He explained that it has a direct effect on the vagus nerve and was helping to ease me into a parasympathetic state. It made perfect 'aha' sense to me. This is a beautiful thing about herbs~~they're simple, yet many-faceted. Thought I'd share my story. :)

Thank you! This was so informative and fun to listen to. I love Lisa's perspective on plant constituents being like plant spirits with a unique and individual energetic pattern. What a great way to view chemistry and it makes the science much more intriguing, at least to me! 😀💚

I'm only 2/3's through with the first listen to this and just want to state that, Rosalee, I couldn't agree with you more about the value of this interview and making the judgement call of letting it be longer than usual. Thank you very much! Such valuable information!

I so hope she'll teach her course in about a year again because now is not the time for me, and I see tremendous value in understanding what she'll teach. I will definitely get her book soon. I'm so glad she takes many plant variables into consideration regarding healing. I wonder if her classes discussed trying to figure out why certain herbs did not act the same on some people. I know body type is only one factor to consider. Her talk was very interesting.

Sometimes reactions will differ due to genetics and/or interactions with other supplements. It can take a little bit to dial into the right solution for the right problem too. Also many things really depend on parts of the plants used, time of day picked, and processing. So when you try a herbal product you want to go for a good quality brand and try the same one for awhile. If you don't see a result try a diffrent brand to verify.

Gush, gush, you two! I want to share that I listened to Rosalee speak about dandelion at the free herbalism conference and even thought I was already drinking dandelion root tea, I had not fully cultivated my relationship with dandelion. I went home to a farm and fell in love. Dandy power! Also I agree with dandelion root tea and cravings. That has been my experience too! It is amazing support for healthy blood sugar levels. I recently found out about osha for stopping an anaphylaxis reaction. I would like to try this as my other option is the epi-pen and those are too expensive to have everywhere, especially when they can't be in the heat. I would think that would be a good occasion to use it. Does grindelia work in the same ways? Thank you for sharing this conversation!

I’m SO EXCITED Lisa chose grindelia! I met this plant in the wild here in Colorado last year and was immediately intrigued. (I added a little of my own grindelia tincture to my coffee while I listened to you ladies talk about her.) Thank you, Rosalee, for always finding such knowledgeable guests to interview. Just ordered Lisa’s book. Can’t wait for it to get here!

I love her! She is so animated. I bet her lectures were great! I'd love to hear her talk about pokeweed on a future video. I have some growing in my yard. No idea where or how it got here but everything I find about it, says it poisonous.

I have asthma and I really appreciate the information. Forgive me if this was answered later in the talk because I'm about halfway through but is it possible to do a honey infusion in a crock pot on low? Has anyone tried it? I figure since the newer crock pots run cooler than the old ones it may work.

Are all Grindelia/gumweeds interchangeable? Grindelia integrifolia is what is linked for seeds and plants, but I think G. robusta is more common where I am...

If i make a tincture with 100 proof vodka. And do a honey infusion. Can i put equal amounts to get a stable elixir? Wouldn’t that make a 25% elixir? Omg I get so confused with that.

Does anybody know if it would be good for snake and spider bites the same way that Echinacea is?
