Bought a G9 last month and loved it so much I bought the G8 and worked on my sons Jeep. He is deployed now so he will be surprised on how nice his Jeep came out. The G8 worked great on the small area on his Wrangler.

Griot's is awesome. They have a military discount too if you go to their Tacoma location or phone in your orders. Lady on the phone was so nice and threw in a free bottle of speed shine too. I appreciate the love for veterans.

If someone orders the G8 and G9 in the same order it would be nice if you guys swapped one 10ft cord in the box for a 25ft cord, that way that person would get both the short and the long cord and we know those would work with both machines. Having two of the same length is ok but doesn't provide as much value/flexibility to the user.

What makes the G8 mini better than the rest? And what is the longevity of the life span when using the G8 constantly?
@c6z061

With all the other "mini" polishers, they have a 12mm throw. I think the large throw is counter productive when using smaller pads for tighter areas. Griots uses an 8mm throw, which makes much more sense for smaller areas.

Is that cord goin to get getting pull out every time you pull a little.... I have other tools with the same type of cord and it sucks after about a year of use those cord start to fall of with the tinyes pull ... not a good idea
@GriotsGarage

It's a locking cord, so you would have to depress the lock in order for it to come out. As you can see in this video, it's strong enough to swing the tool around by the cord, and still operates just fine!

Hahahaha, our detailer at the dealership I work at hates me... he uses his like 8in rotary for EVERYTHING, and he is old school and thinks he knows everything and im just some dumb kid... I always offer him my Griots 3in when Im watching him do jobs that you really cant safely do with a large rotary and he always turns me down
@dragonsystems5973

You know... I do think it is worth mentioning though, the existing 3 inch is kinda slow because of the lack of power, HOWEVER, in some ways that is kinda nice if you think about it since there are times, especially when you are doing something you need the precision of a smaller unit, when you really really really need to not screw up and at those times very slow correcting is nice. I am still not sure if I will trade in my existing 3in or keep it along with the new tool. I kinda also figure that if I want to run a low power device off an inverter for either very light correction or wax application the old 3in might be better for that too

Pairing the prior-gen 3" orbital with a 2" backing plate and pads gives it a big boost in its paint correcting ability.
@dragonsystems5973

That is usually what I do, like I said though, sometimes I like the safety of the slower correction... actually though I'm kinda surprised that the performance is as far off from my larger buffer as it is with all the power focused in that two inch pad.
