I've had the 0454 for about 5 yrs now with no problems. The thing is a beast!! I just put in the 20" shelix with the indexable carbide bits. This blade was recommended by my Grizzly rep. My ears thank him every day. The noise and quality of cut is night and day. Get the Rotacator to adjust blade and infeed and outfeed rollers, you won't regret it. This machine has paid for itself over and over. Thanks Grizzly.

There's a furniture shop in my area that is closing soon and they have a G0454 up for auction. I'm thinking of bidding for it to upgrade my DW 734. Can you move one of these things up a ramp and onto a trailer without heavy machinery?

It’s going to be the 1033X for me. Helical has a slight edge. Very slight.

samm frankss 240 and 220 volt are the same thing, they're used interchangeably within the industry.

There is no 220v. There used to be and now people can't stop saying 220. They love it. It always reads 240v when checked with a meter..."nah my pahpah said 220 so that's what I'll say. " Drives me nuts. There is 208v, but no 220v. And if you have 208v you know it because it's one leg of a 3 phase system and you'd most likely know that if you have that at your shop or business.

What are the real feed rates the machine comes with: 16 FPM and 20 FPM or 16 FPM and 28 FPM? The grizzly page has it confused.

How would it perform on polyethylene? Looking at refurbishing HDPE cutting board/countertop strips for food service.

You can cut that stuff on a table saw no problem, you don't even need a special blade, so I don't see why you couldn't plane it too.

So, no built in mobile base for the extreme? That sucks. I have to pay $400 more for the X and then I have to pay for a mobile base. Grrr.

Same crappy design, same marketing BS. God how I hated having to use those things. Noisey, inaccurate, lousy feeding hack machine.
