Ack! The summing feature is great, but the dropro 4-axis kit costs 10 times more than the igaging dro kit.

Hey... just curious. Why didn't you just purchase the Grizzly G0759 mill instead? It's the same mill as yours, but already has a nice DRO installed on it. Did you save money?

I am planning to install a DRO on my G0704 and wondered if there is anything you wish you had done differently after using it for 3 year? How much trouble was it to add the Z axiz together? I like that idea and had not thought about it. Does it seem accurate as you expected?

i'm thinking of getting one of these machines and i'm uncertain whether to buy the copete package machine or to get the bare bones model and augment with the dro, power feed, etc., as i go. i have noticed that grizzly mounts the x axis scale on the back side of the table. why did you decide to mount on the front? i like your idea of mounting a scale on the head as well as the quill. how did you get the diplay to combine the inputs from the two scales into one display?

Do you feel you need the 4 axis vice just the X & Y? I would like to add the DRO but hate to spend that much. Thoughts?

Sweet video, All I need is money to buy all this fancy stuff, looks like a fun hobby though. I'm looking into buying a mini mill and lathe, but I hear nothing but horror stories about them. That's what brought me to this part of youtube. I've read that with these scales and readouts you can combat problems with backlash and that seems to big a big problems with these small machines from what I've researched... Any thoughts? .

Jimmy Doe all machines have some degree of backlash unless you upgrade to a ball screw ...you learn.

I wonder why the X axis was mounted on the front of the mill rather than the back so it would be out of the way more.

Steve Pargeter - 6 years late... but... the table when it goes back is really close to the post. It’d probably crash into it.
