Miss Lori-I am new to your channel. I'm watching your videos and enjoying each one. When you said you have enough, it brought a tear to my eye. I wish more people had your outlook. I have traveled with my husband all over the world and our great country. The things I have seen would break your heart. Do you know what is lacking in most countries? Access to clean water. Something as simple as water. Something we take for granted, that we waste in abundance. People walk miles every day for something we have at the turn of a faucet. We need to be grateful for all our blessings, big and small. Thank you for reminding us.

I just found your videos a few days ago. I can not tell you what a blessing they are especially during these challenging times. First off they bring back so many wonderful memories from my childhood. I was born a Northern Illinois city girl but spent most of my childhood summers in South Western Iowa. My Mom was from there and grew up on a farm. My aunt's and uncles farms were magical places for us kids to explore. Mom always made everything from scratch. She passed on several years ago and I miss her dearly. Watching your videos I feel like I am visiting with my Mom or one of my aunts and that is priceless. All but one has passed and I now live outside of Seattle Washington. So being invited into your kitchen is priceless! I adore watching you and Mr. Brown! Thank you for sharing these treasures with us. God bless you both and you families.

Edward and i love looking at your kitchen. Awhile back I asked Edward to make whip cream. We have lovely cream in Ireland. I dozed off for just a minute. Edward came and asked me to taste the cream. I said, Edward that is the sweetest butter I ever had!!! And it was too! Love Cee from the little haunted cottage in Ireland💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀

My husband loves the same bread as Mr Brown. I rarely eat bread so it goes bad fast here. What I do is take a sheet of Wax Paper and fold it up to about the size of a slice of bread and cut it up. Then I take the bread out of the bag and put a piece of paper between each slice. Put it back in the bag and squeeze most of the air out (without crushing the bread) then put it in the freezer. I can just take out a couple slices at a time for his sandwich and it thaws in less that 5 minutes on the counter. Good as fresh.

My kids are grown and I finally went to college and became an RN, I now no longer struggle to pay my bills but I still don’t have fancy things, God showed me I don’t need fancy, I am happier with thrift store clothes and raising a garden ! Somehow, someway I stumbled upon your channel and I just love it..As my husband and I are looking to buy our next home we're looking at things like outdoor kitchen areas, does it have a pool, does it have a jetted tub and the budget is constantly going up up up and I see your little slice of heaven and I'm thinking what the heck do I need 4000 sq ft for-it's just he and I. Blessing to yours and thank you so much for a much needed wake up call and re-evaluation.

Glad for you Carolyn! Had 3200 sq ft home and it was full-time job just to clean it! Had to have ladders to change lightbulbs and dust windowsills. After divorce from unfaithful spouse, I downsized to 1750 sq ft. Couldn't be happier. Same # bedrooms/baths for when children come home. All I need. Much more intimate and stylish. Plus front of house, garage, wide driveway, front bedroom/bath, all doors large-sized because original owner had special-needs child. No steps at front entrance or garage to enter house. All set and I can afford payments on social security. Hope to retire soon. God surely blesses and provides!

You are saying the words to,the song, “ Thank You Lord For The Blessings.” Love it. My southern roots always had music . My grandma played anything with strings on it. When she was in her 80’s, she would go play and sing for those younger than her. They didn’t have running water, drank from a water bucket with a dipper. Best memories ever. Yes, we had lots to be Thankful FOR. LOVE means a lot more then money. Keep these videos coming and sharing your lives. It’s a good example for all who watch. 🙏🏻

I love these ideas. My daughter makes our laundry detergent and it does a great job. We too use Dawn for dishes, freeze bread and some veggies. We make our own homemade chicken broth. Make jams and apple butter. Buy some organic items. I have to watch salt intake, so we cook without adding salt. Use other seasonings instead. It's amazing what items you can purchase very low in sodium and the recipes you can make using other seasonings. Buy free range eggs from friends. Have shopped at Amish grocery stores. Two years ago while on vacation in Missouri we came upon an Amish store. We were in heaven. Also there is a small Amish grocery store north of us where we can get things in build. There are 2 vegetable stands close by in summer. One grows his own tomatoes and supplements with other veggies from the Amish, the other stand has a large variety of veggies...all gotten from the Amish. We have 2 freezers and they are usually both pretty much filled with all sort of good things.

I freeze all of my bread. My man doesn't like rye or wheat, so I will buy it on sale and just freeze then get out a slice or two as I need it. I freeze crackers and chips too. Love your dawn holder idea. I still love the Old fashioned Dawn. Didn't know you could buy the professional strength. Thanks for the tip. I absolutely LOOOOVE YOUR COMPOST BIN!!! I bought me a little indoor knat catcher. It lights up and has a fan and sticky paper inside that attracts the knats. Doesn't make any zapping noise like the outdoor ones, works great. Usually takes about 3 days to clear up all the food knats when I leave it on overnight in the kitchen. Kinda like a little nightlight.

I agree that many people don’t have much and I’m happy to live the life we do, our home is not finished and we don’t have floor coverings ect... but we don’t have a mortgagee either, boing it as we can afford it as as time allows. We lived in 2 caravans for 8 years while we built to an acceptable state we could move in. Many wouldn’t live like this but I have my wonderful Husband and my animals to keep me happy, our 2 girls are older and moved out, I’d do it all over again to be mortgage free😀 simple times are the best times. That's how I grocery shop. I hate going to the grocery story. We go once a month for most stuff, Sam's is 45 mins from our house and other grocery stores are 20 to 30 mins away. We're in a small rural neighborhood. If we need anything in between my husband runs to the store down the road from where he works on his lunch break. When I see Walmart has that discounted bread I try to stock up. My husband is always like have you lost your mind we don't eat a lot of bread. But without fail the kids will eat it. On breaks they make French bread pizzas, cut it down and make subs, and French toast. I've made bread crumbs with it. My husband fails to realize some days we have an almost 14 yr old boy and a 12 yr old girl. He wasn't around much when our 26 yr old son was their age because he was in the navy and always gone. I'm hoping this summer to grow some green chilies and either can or freeze them. That's the same Dawn we buy from Sam's Club.

You done good Miss Lori! One burning question...How many freezers do you own? Thanks for sharing your tips and about the Dawn...yep, it's the only dish detergent, period. We are blessed. Money to purchase food, roof over our head. Good health. Amen!

We buy those French breads. Sometimes we make garlic bread with butter and garlic powder on it and put it in the broiler. Yum. I’d like to see how you make your own cream soups.

way back in the 80's Aldis had bread for 17 cents a loaf so we usually bought about 10 loaves and put them in the freezer, with 5 kids that really didn't last all that long.

Great video .. I'm looking forward to the meeting. You are so right on how blessed we are. God is Good. Keep sharing. I look forward to seeing all your videos. I know you're kids are looking forward to the great meal that Mom is preparing. Nothing like Mom's fantastic cooking. You should video your meal together.

Miss Lori, the raw milk and cream are healthy. The bread, crackers, coffee creamer, store mayo ( industrial oils) are not. We all decide what compromises we make for food. Most of your own home made foods are excellent. Sugar in all forms (fructose is especially bad) is just extremely unhealthy for humans. Our bodies should only have 1 teaspoon of sugar at any time. Thank you for sharing. 💕
