Thank you for the perfect video! I've spent days trying to find out simple information, like exactly how to deadhead these, and nobody has a video on that. All the videos are about loping them back to make them smaller. Your video is filled with excellent information! Thanks again!

Love the video, great job! I spend an hour or so a couple days a week in the spring just deadheading and pruning my rhodys and it creates the most beautiful landscape plants.

I’m new to caring for Rhodys and wasn’t sure how to cut them back once the blooms were spent so thanks for the video. 👍

Very helpful video! I knew my Rhododendron needed pruning but was a bit worried I'd ruin it if I did. I feel much more confident after watching this video and will look for the little bud "bumps" on the branches. Thanks!

Just what I've been looking for. Thanks for these tips on pruning. I had heard that pruning a rhodie was a no no! But we have some right in the front of our building complex that just too big where they are. This will help to contain them.

Very helpful information, thank you! My rhodies are getting a little tall and long, small leaf evergreens. I've been afraid of how to prune because I didn't want to kill the plants but this is very helpful!

Will these pruning techniques work with a Pieris? I have one that has lost some interior leaves that I want to give a rejuvenation pruning.

Like your splint. I'm an aging gardening fanatic with finger and wtist issues. Is that an over the counter splint I might be able to find sonewhere? Thanks

Is crusty bark a pathogen, nutritive problem or normal? I have some sort of fungus on the leaves - a light beige coloured gunk wipes off the underside. there are tiny black fruiting bodies barely visible except under a 10X loupe. Most obviously dark red circles on the leaves progressing to solid brown leaf necrosis.

Thank you, you’re the only video I could find for the small leaf rhodies I think they’re PJM? Mine are just starting to bloom but they are leggy and have some sun scorch from last summer. Will wait till after bloom to cut them for new growth.

I got a Hoilden rhododendron at Lowe's and it won't bloom.. It just sits there like a bump on a log. The leaves are nice and healthy but I want flowers. Would you have any idea why? It only gets afternoon sun.

Lepidote and elepidote terms are reversed in this video. Big leaf = elipidote, small leaf (scaled) = lepidote.

@Cloud Mtn. Farm Ctr. Demonstrator: Helpful tips for pruning and pinching, But your classification of rhodies is Incorrect in that you label the large leaved rhodies as "lepidote" and the smaller leaved rhodies as "elepidote". The truth is just the reverse with the large leaved ones being "elepidotes" and the smaller leaved (scales on undersides) being "lepidote" rhodies.
