Version 1.2.3 just came out and offers Eucon and Streamdeck integration. Eucon works great on the AVID Control app, in the Monitoring section, very similar to DADMan on the app! I also like the bass management features, spared me a fortune!

@@tomkogstad7773 You have pretty much what you have with DADMan, if you happen to have an MTRX or MTRX Studio. In Sphere, from the AVID Control app/Monitoring tab, you have control on all your Inputs (selection), corresponding Speaker Selection for solos and mutes, in sum or intercancel modes. Also, you can select the Main, Alt 1 and 2, Outputs B, C and D, these last three (B C D) with control over level. You also can control the TB mic level, Dim levels and Main levels, the last controls the volume wheel. You can also enable Dim, Talkback (latch and non latch). Finally you can select Mono or the Main sides under Folddown on the app. I hope I didn´t forget anything🙂

@@paulovmendes Thanks for the elaborate answer. I'm only using 2 Artists and the Control app with PT. I was hoping to find a choice for the Sphere in the Monitor section like you mention, but mine was empty. I checked for an Eucon update but Im already on the latest. I enabled the Eucon setting in the Sphere prefs, but it didn't do anything for the App. I can see Ginger Audio still has a job to do on the documentation side. 🙂 Still a great product and I'm saving up!

been playing around with the trial. its functionality is amazing once you get it to behave but i have found that the cpu load is pretty extreme. it decreases massively when you close you gui on my system from bout 80% cpu to 30%cpu. even at 30% hit with it closed is too big a hit to take on my system once you start doing wild object panning etc. this is with an eq plug in loaded on each output so to simulate using this for room tuning / processing as well as monitor control.i had to use loopback to in conjunction with it to be more stable. my system is 2019 i9 MacBook Pro 64 gig ram. great video i love your channel!

Thanks Alex … another fine review! Can’t help thinking that the price, no matter how much work they put into it may restrict its wide and early adoption. This is the time to establish their brand while there is less competition. As one or more commenters said, it just feels weird to pay as much or more for a plugin than your DAW! Lower entry price brings more customers, more valuable feedback and more reviews / word of mouth / sales of future products. I’ll still keep it in mind but in hold pattern for now.

Thanks for yet another highly informative video Alex! I'm on Protools - can I use this setup already or is there something still missing reg. the development from GingerAudio? I love the fact that you can MIDI learn any knob from an existing controller and actually have a physical volume knob as well as other functions. Can quickly save a huge sum versus real HW and it will not break down! Cudos Alex.

Alex, I may be totally wrong here, but I think someone could build one heck of a home theater audio player/processor with this kind of software and the needed hardware. My 4k Blu-Ray player has a separate audio HDMI output that could be used to input into Sphere. So, I have to ask you if it is possible, what might the cost be and is it even possible and/or worth the effort? Thanks a million and I wish you and yours all the very best, Kevin

Bro, how are you able to switch between Sphere 16, 32, 64 just with a button push? I have mine set up the same way and I have to go up to the OS menu and click on the corresponding virtual sound card. So it's always 2 steps and I can't do it fast for A/B. What am I doing wrong?

@@LeChapeauMusic That I´m aware yes. Tidal app for desktop doesn´t provide a 7.1.4 output or similar as Apple Music does, so you´ll need an Apple TV 4K or a network streamer and connect it via HDMI to a receiver. And from then, interface it with your studio system, which is going to be costly. Never tried it, but all other streaming platforms that offer Dolby Atmos like Amazon etc. are the same, no Atmos on desktop app. It´s a pity, I have a sub of Tidal and would like to enjoy Atmos as on Apple Music.

great video Alex, thanks. I think Sphere might be the solution I am looking for, but there is still something I dont understand 100%, maybe you can help? I am a film composer. I mainly work in stereo, and deliver in stems that at the film mix stage I re-distribute in 5.1 / Atmos with the mix engineer, depending on the project. ( I do have a pair of surround satellites that I use to do a rough check of Ls and Rs info before going somewhere to mix it all properly). I am now thinking of expanding my own set up to always deliver scores in at least 5.1, for quicker and better translation, as well as presenting to directors sounding closer to what we will then go and mix. one day maybe expanding my system to 7.1.4 Atmos. This might be a gradual process. My question is: If I invest in a sub for the 5.1 config, I'd like to be able to use it for stereo work - combine it with my current stereo pair to create an extended 2.1 system with bass management. Sphere would allow me to set that up and then switch instantly to a 5.1 config for film work, right? the sub would go from being combined with the front stereo pair to being a stand-alone LFE channel? correct? To be honest I'm a bit confused about how a sub integrates into stereo or 5.1 mixes as one way is to "beef up" your stereo pair, and the other is a dedicated channel for LFE rumble etc in cinema where in theory music tracks shouldn't be sent so much. if you could clear up my confusion and explain if Sphere can handle this (no need to go into detail, I can work out HOW , later, just in principle if it works before I invest in the software). Thanks!

Definitely got my eye on this plugin. For $100 this would be fantastic, but seeing that it is more than twice the price of Logic Pro, which I bought to mix Atmos. I'm gonna have to stick with Sonarworks multichannel as my monitor controller for now, which was the same price as this plugin but also tunes and time aligns my room.
