I'm sorry to disagree with this instruction but the actual required grounding point is on the neutral or "XO". The strap referred to in the video is not bonded to the neutral at all as it is a frame bond only. To achieve a proper system ground for the wye secondary XO, the ground wire must be secured to the neutral as well as the case of the transformer. Minimum ground wire size must be confirmed with the AHJ and the Code tables based on the actual rated output of the transformer. Fastening the ground wire to the case only and leaving the neutral unconnected from any grounding will cause a dangerous floating neutral condition.

+Gianluigi Sandiego There was already a jumper from the XO terminal down do the lug where he put the ground wire, he explained that in the video. And also, code now states that a minimum of #6 is required for a ground wire, that is all. There are no more tables to size a ground wire based off the ampacity of the panel or in this case, the transformer, you could have a new commercial restaurant with a 2000A 347/600V service, and it would only need a #6 ground, because any fault current goes back on the neutral to the source, very little to none of the fault ever actually goes to ground out the ground wire.

this is correct. video is wrong GROUND wire must go through xo first then bond to case.

Unbalanced currents doesn't come to the ground. Electric current can flow only in closed circuits. Grounding of a neutral bus bar providing increase of ground fault currents, and therfore tripping of fuses.

Which side does the ground need to be continuous to XO from the primary or secondary?

I like ur video but I am more interested in the actual connections on the transformer itself like delta primary and the wye secondary please help

My doubt is how do you connect entries (inputs) of the transform to wires (screwed or stapeled - or another type). Thanks

So the XO Lug has 2 spaces and the neutral and the ground both land on XO?

Can a grounding wire that was stolen from about 8 feet to the ground be repaired using copper clad steel and connectors?

Bad info in this video. Unbalanced neutral return DOES NOT got to grounding electrodes. current that returns on the neutral wire returns to the star point X0(3 phase wye) or center tap point(3phase delta or single phase/split phase service) NOT the ground rod. Ground rods are for lightning suppression and to shunt primary voltage when primary lines contact secondary lines. Ground rods have NOTHING to do with neutral return current or the fault current path aka EGCs...

Please tell my Electric Company. Their transformer's catching the Lightning and passing it onto my Air Conditioner.

Code states a specific wire size for a specific bonding jumper. That ribbon is only bonding the outer frame to the core frame. “70% of the time most of the time” is not a real metric. You need to delete this video

Holly shit the only thing I did wrong was play this video. This guys a joke! He calls the wiring schematics a freaking print?!?! The best wire for grounding is STRANDED number 6 for (AMPACITY). WOW He's just repeating shit he's heard. I'll NEVER SECOND guess myself EVER Again. Lol 🤙✌
