Group A Strep streptococcus, or Strep A, is a type of bacteria that can cause infection, these bacteria are commonly found on the skin or in the throat. Many people carry Strep A harmlessly and do not develop illness it can be passed from person to person by close contact and most people who come into contact with Strep A remain well.
