At the start of my relationship with my first girlfriend, we would sleep (by sleep I mean actually sleep) with each other, but as we had a shaky history we would be careful not to say things that came across as too forward. We would have this attitude that we weren't too much into each other, but we knew we cared quite a lot. Whenever she was around to sleep, I would put some music on for her so she could calm down and get to bed, and I decided to have this song in the playlist. As this song played, her cuddle became tight. She didn't want to let go of me, we wouldn't say anything to each other... But that hug, you could have written an entire book series and it would have still said less than that cuddle she gave me there. I hope to find this sort of love again one day...

Your history with this song is so sweet, I hope to find love like this also. My history was quite harsh and painful (atleast it was for me). I would cry on dark nights like this and call for my boyfriend to beg him to stop using, and no matter how much I begged he wouldn't quit. I slowly lost interest in trying to fix the unfixable and I landed on this song, it reminds me of those painful nights. Thank you for sharing your story

And I'm clean now Mimicking hawks I've climbed to the top of a poisonous valley Valleys, pastel sheets draped across my feet Violet flowers weep beneath my feet Call the subordinate valley, to repeat Like an infant's cry Rise & echo forward [rise & echo forward] to the water's edge To meet the beating of the waves & form some kind of truce Love uneven [sand eating at the land] Water whispering, the Absent pattern of your feet Our love echoed the valley, crying low into the Land, hiding its flowered head from the wind [Hiding its flowered head from the wind] [Hiding its flowered head from the wind]

Seigneur par ta miséricorde donne le repos éternel à ceux qui nous ont quittés, fais que des anges veillent sur eux... Amen
“I can remember the end of my time at Silver Hill, remember that moment walking the grounds on a sunny day, early spring, the New England chill against the bright summer light, and I remember thinking: I know what life is for. I don’t have all the answers, I don’t know what will happen next, but just at this moment I understand that my life matters, that there are good things ahead. I don’t know what they are, but maybe it will be alright. I felt peace. I understood that corny thing that people say: I am at peace with myself. And I wanted to think of better words for it, wanted to think of a way to say it that was less trite, more apposite and writerly. And then I remembered that sometimes these simple words that everyone uses are just right, are just good.” Elizabeth Wurtzel

There're moments where I find myself so lost and about to burst into tears, but I end up coming back to this song, and it helps me so much... It gives me the peace I need, it makes me feel like everything is okay, such a beautiful piece of music that can change me completely.

Yeah, for real. and their rating system is based on an average of multiple editors I'm pretty sure. People just look at the score and get all personal about it half the time. I mean, yeah, there's a bunch of pretentious writing on there, but what are you gonna do? Its a pretty heavily endorsed criticism site with multiple editors like you mentioned.
