@@BawonoSA173 It’s a bit complicated to explain here, but you could use an instance on points node to distribute an object at each point along the curve. There’s a lot of good geometry node tutorials out there 👌 My Doctor Strange Fractal tutorial shows a lot of basic nodes and how they work.

Thanks for your wonderful tutorial! I would like to share that i made the tendrils move organic with just a little adjustment: In the NOISE TEXTURE in W, disconnect random value and set a value like frame/120. When you hit play then the tendrils wil move a bit. The number will set the speed of motion.

@Graphicalninja

Use the plane as your target object ;) but it probably won’t look quite as cool on a flat surface - and it won’t track to your moving person. The only super legit way of doing it on a real person is getting a digital model that matches the persons height and animating it to match the persons movement perfectly. Not easy lol

Using this with an animated rig makes the tendrils go crazy, like lightning, changing position every frame. I think that's because the contact point changes position slightly, but I can't get it to always be in the same place. Any ideas?
@Graphicalninja
2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is an issue, and geometry nodes doesn’t have a great way to skin stuff yet. But one solution is to have a have a static mesh and an animated mesh. Use the static one as the target for your tendrils. Then use a mesh deform modifier on the tendrils targeting the animated mesh. You’ll have to displace your animated mesh outward so it envelopes all the tendrils because the mesh deform modifier requires that to work properly. It’s not perfect but it does work
