In this episode, we again dive deeper into growing techniques with Ed Clark at Round Valley Nursery in Lindsay, California. As winter is in full swing it is a good time to remove trees grown in the ground for several years building girth in the trunks and now moving them into their first pots. It is a crucial time as trees do not have any fine roots near its trunks and placing trees into pot now as they are dormant is a great time. Most deciduous trees can recover from drastic pruning like this if both their tops and bottoms are trimmed in a similar fashion unlike their evergreen cousins.
