Obviously the main thing here is the learning process, but also if it works out you can make a shoe lace!

Maybe even two shoelaces! Let's hope for an abundant crop.

@@oneseedoneworld I have grown cotton in Louisiana many years ago. It's easy to grow. The seeds are hard to remove without the right equipment.

@@tjs323626 my concern with growing it here in Maryland was having enough time (especially since they got so sunburned in the greenhouse and had a long recovery time). But so far, so good, and I got my first blossom on one of them yesterday.

Cotton is a southern crop, but with the right infrastructure, it can be done. Fleece is another item (sometimes free) that can be utilized in colder climates..

Where can I get my own cotton seeds?

There are a lot of different places online that sell them. As long as you are not in state where its illegal to grow it in your backyard (Texas for example) they will ship them to you. I think you can even get some on Etsy.

@@oneseedoneworld can cotton seeds be defective? Should I buy them in bulk and plant them all in hopes that some would sprout?
@oneseedoneworld

@@foxythelegend6148 I have had really good luck with them germinating, normally close to 100%. Usually most vendors will send you good, viable seeds, you should be fine planting just the amount that you want to grow. They also normally germinate within a week or less, so if you have some that don't sprout you can just plant some additional fill ins then.

Wish you could show the seeds and how to plant them

Sorry about that! The seeds are planted about a quarter to a half inch down in the soil. Depending on where you get the seeds, sometimes they have been completely cleaned off, although mine still have some cotton fibers attached (you can plant them with the fibers on them). The seeds are slightly oblong in shape, maybe about the size of a pea.
