I don't even know why you put this out! You making to much out of this, when in reality you no-racial people always had it easier, from slavery to now. A whole lot has not changed. The sad thing about it is how our own black people seem to gloat and adore light- skinned women, especially in the media. And In also notice how the magazine and advertisement is leaning toward the ugliest and blackest "real African." Although I know there have seen the most gorgeous African features that used to be in magazines. They basically do not even show African American models anymore! Is this some kind of back lash? As if to imply, "So, you want black?" Then, we'll give you the most ugliest blacks we can find!" So, stop it! We know what the industry is up to! And it is highly disrespectful and racist!

As a Canadian Biracial woman not only are the dynamics different between having a white mom and a black dad, but also from just being raised in Canada with Canadians… When I hear things like this it makes me feel resentful towards white Americans. I think my parents tried to hide racism from me and my brother growing up as much as possible by ignoring it. My parents moved into an all white neighborhood with my older sisters and they faced a lot of racism because of that. When me and my brother came along, most of the white people left and other races moved into the neighborhood. Me and my brother went to an all white private school, I liked the school from nursery all the way up to kindergarten. First grade is when I was thrust into the real world and I got my dose of racism when one of my friends introduced me in the morning just before class to his mother and she freaked out and yelled at me right in front of the whole auditorium of students. At the time I didn't know the meaning to some of the words she was using or why she was so upset at me and her child. I was confused and embarrassed at the same time. I also had my friends that I knew since nursery have their older siblings telling them not to play with me or parents out right threatening to take their kids out the school if teachers didn't stop their kids from interacting with me. This caused the school to eventually kick me out. Sadly, when I came to a predominantly Black Public school 2 years later I faced racism from Black kids who didn't want to play with me because I dressed white and talked white as they put it. It was rough growing up not fitting in because you don't meet the social norms that society places upon people. I don't fit into just one box, I was brought up in a diverse family with a very open mind. I feel sorry for those people who live in a bubble and can't open their closed minds to new ways of thinking.

Being bi racial you can choose which side of your heritage you would like to identify with(as far as upbringing and appearance) , Tia looks more like the black side of her heritage.
@chinwude_

@@sophiadavenport3959 actually you cant choose. A biracial/multiracial is not black or white, they're biracial/multiracial. Those that choose tend to choose when its convienent. For example, many biracials promote and are praised for their european heritage when it comes to societal beauty standards and reject their African heritage because it is looked down upon.

Longer than not it was the law in this society that any baby born to an interracial couple if 1 is black that is what that baby was legally. We all know whites dominated this society. So its naive to tell a child they won't get viewed as only black especially if the features are even slightly obvious. It would be different if this world was perfect and flawless. But of course always teach them about both sides of their herritage as they're old enough to understand

I really appreciate this video. I’m the adoptive mother of a biracial child. It’s like she’s a chameleon because she morphs into the behavior patterns of those she hangs around, often with not so great results. She seems to do better when her friends are biracial as well. Thank you for shedding more light on this. She doesn’t really talk about it, but I’m always looking for ways to improve her quality of life, especially in light of her other issues.

Interesting story. I married a man who is so much like my Dad. Thought I would never marry because my Dad set the bar high and I (without realizing) was evaluating guys by that standard and mann they fell short and I wasn't going to settle. Then l met my husband who displayed so many characteristics of my Dad who absolutely cherished me and doted on me and treated me royally (even though he wasn't wealthy) he made me feel like I was, that I was special n important to him. It's crazy.

Great story Tia! I’m the same make up as you are. I did not become aware of race until kindergarten, I thought everyone had two different shades of parents. Raising my own children in this world has been quite a different story. My 6 year old son calls people brown or peach.

That's exactly how I came to realize that I was "biracial" - in Kindergarten, a little girl called me a "half-n*****" and I went home and asked my mom what that was. I grew up around other mixed kids so I didn't know what all the fuss was about lol but I feel like I had lost something that day which sounds dramatic but it was like I came to realize that the world isn't what I thought if people really didn't like others based on skin color. I really looked up to you and your sister growing up, watching Sister, Sister and actually looking up facts about you guys on the computer at school (LOL) and when I found out we had that in common I was weirdly excited just because I wanted to be just like you guys 💕

It's J; Thank you Tia, for sharing. I am an author; I just finished writing a book on human nature. When I was thinking about who my target audience would be I considered people whose parents were of different racial backgrounds. After seeing your story as well as others I am more convinced that your demographic has a unique experience that the message of my book speaks directly to. I am not of direct mixed parentage but grew up with grandparents who could fit that bill. Like you, I saw nothing to make a fuss about the different appearance of mama and daddy. but I learned later that everyone was not as open minded. I feel for you and your husband's situation of having to deal with your son's reality. I am convinced that children need to know the truth (appropriate for their age of course) As you can see it cannot be avoided. But unfortunately most adults lack the knowledge to effectively prepare their young ones for the kind of world that awaits them. If you would like to know more about my book I would be happy to provide info you can contact me by telegram JT

@Lee-O Once you have colour of a tanned look, brown, yellow look, melinated look then yes there is a sprinkle of black in there... Mexicans have black in them, Philippians, Indians, They still have their black ancestors they are lying saying that they all came from Africa when they are still tribal and indigenous! To the bloody land! Everywhere! That's right SHEEPLE...(What is hidden will come to light) Chinese ( A Chinese Scientist ran test on numerous Chinese tribes and discovered that they had BLACK in them).. The ancient Egyptians WERE BLACK the reason why the features were blown off...common sense shows IGNORANCE is where the victor brainwashed and mentally conditions others to view from their narrative...it's just people lie too much to admit truth.. The bleaching of skin to get rid of the darkness is in itself a shameful act of self hate! But it's all apart of the mental CONDITIONING! The OLMECS which were INDIGENOUS are of a black race... the INDIGENOUS people or should I say the oldest known skull is of a black person... Why are people thinking all blacks came from Africa?.. that is 100% false 🧐 these people were everywhere and not just in Africa... WAKE UP PEOPLE... THE WORLD IS MIXED, VERY MIXED.. SHOCKING WHAT YOU COULD DISCOVER WHEN YOU REALIZE THE BOX IS AN ILLUSION! HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THE VICTOR ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT.. EVEN SALT CAN LOOK LIKE SUGAR... THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IN THIS WORLD IS LOVE, EMPATHY AND HAVING GOOD CHARACTER EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST NOISE! 🤔👁🤔

This video is a treat to anyone raising biracial children! Something that is positive, real and relatable from someone who has walked in their shoes. Whether Dad is white or black or Mom is black or white or either any shade in between...the underlying truth is that love has no color preference. It is a mutual feeling enjoyed by two individuals who were smart enough to follow their own hearts. ♡Love truly is a gift and every single child, teenager, young adult and parent walking, is worthy of it. ♡
