Good work for a quick build. That car was ran in several different configurations. I’m sure that was fairly common back then. Thanks for sharing.

You did a nice job on Grumps Vega. I just built this model too, however, I had to paint the red around the window frames. its impossible to put the decal over the ridges of window frames and drip rails. I went ahead further to cut out the wheeltubs in the engine compartment and replace it with flat panels cut from Evergreen sheet plastic. Also, headers on the real car ran up to the firewall and exited through the fenderwells a la gasser style. I simply flipped the kit headers upside down and exchange the sides of the motor with holes on the sides of the firewall for the headers to snake through. Again, nice job on this model👍🏁

YESSS! I actually thought about looking in my parts box for gasser headers. I know I have some. Had I had more time or thought about it before hand I would have masked the windows when I painted the rest of the body. For inner panels I was going to use soda cans for the "tin" work. I actually want to do another and make all these corrections now......but that'll be in the future.

What I do when decalling is to shoot a layer of acrylic clear over the sheet before I start. Locks in the decals and keeps them from breaking. Most of the time.

Nice job for a quick build. I don't think I could build something in 2 days! I've heard bad stories of those decals around the windows, and as for the contingency decals, those cars changed pretty much from week to week almost, you can look at 20 pictures of the same car and see 10 different decal placements I think.
