Hey guys! Welcome to Mental Health and Make up Monday's, where every other Monday I will be talking about a variety of mental health topics while doing my make up. This first episode is more so an intro to the series and a brief update on what has changed in the last couple of years, since I started being less active on here. I have been planning this series/video for months, but came up with this idea a couple of years ago.
I am positive that with each episode I will get more comfortable in front of the camera again, learn a lot more, and fix issues with the mic, audio, behind the camera equipment, and the over all quality. But hey, we all have to start somewhere! As much as watching this video back I can see a lot that has to be improved, I am just relieved that I finally did this instead of continuing to delay putting myself out there.
I am excited to see this series progress not only quality wise, but with more vulnerability!
I also wanted to reiterate that I do believe that eating healthy, exercising, and self care can help depression and greatly help a person's mood. More of what I meant was that while I am personally in a depressive episode, there's no way I am capable of conquering a walk, showering, etc. While in a full out depressive episode it helps to let myself feel it for a couple days and rest, then start doing very small tasks. An example would be, if I'm too depressed to shower, then I would at least wash/shave my legs in the sink/bathtub. That's just one example, but basically, baby steps and being patient with myself!
If you guys have any questions please feel free to comment them, I'd love to do a Q&A eventually!
