Columbus, Ohio 1975: I play the album for a friend's father, a classical music aficionado. He likes it enough to make a copy on his reel-to-reel, but says "Will anybody be listening to this 50 years from now?" Well, it's 46 years and counting... Keep at it, guys!

Red Queen to Gryphon Three and The Snow Goose by Camel have been, and always will be, the most gut-wrenchingly beautiful compositions that I will ever have had the pleasure of hearing in my life time. I first heard both at about the age of 17. I am now 62, and they still bring me to tears of both joy and despair. They will both play a part in my passing. But hopefully not for a while yet!

Progrock Man Cheers and yes I know. I will not be at the London gig and have got 3 tickets for me and my other two brothers for the Wolverhampton gig at the Robin 2 on the 12th May which is more nearer to me being in Birmingham.

Progrock Man Well to be honest I just wish they had the money to have it filmed and put out on a DVD or Blu Ray for some of the shows. The London Venue I would expect being the best place to do so as well. I am quite tempted to go to that gig as well but even though the tickets are really cheap and are a bit more than those for the Robin 2 to which only cost me £15 and the London gig is £22.50. Totally amazing value when you consider you would pay something like £80 to see a more popular artist at a lot bigger venue. I even noticed one of the venues they are actually supporting Fairport Convention and to be honest I was a big fan of those too years ago, and have seen them on many occasions back in their heyday in the 70's. But just as good as they are, I certainly do not see them nowhere near in the master class of musicians that are in Gryphon, and in my opinion it should be Fairport supporting them. I am shocked at how more people did not turn their attention more to bands like Gryphon and Gentile Giant who were really given a raw deal in the world of the many artists out there. These are highly talented guys, and people would sooner turn their attention more to the pop world to which most have not even got 10% of the skill these guys have. It really gets to me to see bands such as this struggle, and they should in reality be playing Wembley Stadium cause these guys are class. Just to think it's hard enough for them to go out and find a suitable venue to play at because they had so little followers really breaks my heart. I have had their albums since they came out, and can still very much enjoy them today. I don't think I could ever tire of listening to such great music, it certainly kicks ass out the crap that's out there today by a long shot. So sorry you will not be able to see them, especially as we are all getting on now, and this could be the last chance I ever get to see them. Not wishing any bad fate to fall upon us all, but just being optimistic in my usual way as I see many of my friends and family depart each year as well as great artists.

I'm 54 years old and my favourite band when I turned about twelve was Jethro Tull. They still have a very special place in my musical taste. I very much was into Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Frank Zappa,Camel,Marillion (old and new) etc, on my teens and kept listening to their records pratically on a daily basis. Some years ago a friend of mine introduced me to Gentle Giant, and it blew my mind away. Have all of their records too. Listen to them very regularly. A couple of years ago, was navigating in the internet and checked for prog rock bands and came up with the name Gryphon. Being pretty much into History and Gryphon being a mytical being it drew my attention to further checking. I was stunned with their music, and the skill i playing the way they do. Ever since they became one of my most cherished bands and listen to them very much also. Then checked their site that's when I learned they'd be playing live. I am so sad I cannot attend the venue! Like you, I hope it will turn into a DVD so that those who could not be there for what it seems their last appearance live, will be able to keep it as a future memory! Cheers!
