That was the last mountain bike that I had before I went solely back to road racing…..I’m back into mountain bikes again but this time with a full XTR Klein Adroit. It’s a blast and I’m restoring it to 95% original equipment. Great video, love what you did to her, looks amazing!

Thanks, the I used a different wheel set that had the disc hubs and the Avalanche 1.0 has mounts so was very easy. Thanks for watching 🙏

My first MTB was the GT Avalanche 2.0! Great bike but the rear weld snapped one day when I ripped the disk brake too hard lol. Was just curious about how much you invested in these parts? Cheers mate, great video !

What gear were you snapping chains in? The boost cranks would be even better in the 11,12,15,17t

Does the rear derailleur ever hang too low? I have a 26inch MTB and wanted to go to 1 x 10 but try finding the parts! I am guessing 1 x 11 is a lot easier to find but not sure if it gets in the way (as others have suggested)

Yes if you want the correct chain line spacing. The non drive side won’t matter

How did you manage the Cable routing for the rear brake?

The bike had mounts for disc brakes even though it was sold with V brakes, so I just used the existing cable route plus it has a route for the hydraulic line down the rear seat stay which I zip tied the cable to

@@nigehill i am currently building a Avalanche 2.0 it has both options. V and discbrake. But the discbrake cable routing seems to be only vor mechanical disc brakes

@@gabrieltomic5843 I ran the rear cable along the underside of the top tube which fit in the cable holder lugs and down the left side seat stay to the disc caliper. And zip tied the cable to the lugs that are on the frame on the seat stay
