Here's a special Christmas treat from 23GT.net - Speed Channel's one-hour special covering GT Live 2004, the only time the Japan GT Championship came to the USA and raced outside of Asia!
Although the event had its share of controversy, it was well-attended and certainly had a lot of appeal for any import enthusiast of the time. Be sure to check out the “East versus West” drift competition between Japan's D1GP pros and the top competitors of America's Formula D as well as the time-attack segment with some cool video of Tarzan Yamada laying siege to the track with some tricked-out R34 GT-Rs. You can also choose between the cultured British accent of former sports car racer Alain de Cadenet as he talks about the basics of GT car construction and drift competition, or the loudmouthed segments of out-of-place hot rod journalist Steve Magnante where he intermittently raves about GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS! Pick your poison!
As always, if you're fan of Nissan GT-Rs or import cars in general please check out the blog at 23GT.net and consider hitting the like and subscribe buttons! Happy holidays and as always, drive safe!
