One of the main reasons we had traveled to Guam last month was for my sister Courtney’s wedding, and this video is all about the big day! Baby Mila was definitely excited to get ready and be the best ring bearer ever.
We started off by heading to Oceans Salon for hair and makeup. This is basically our family-favorite salon, since we’d been getting our hair cut and done here since we were in high school. Courtney reserved Karen to do makeup, who transformed us into-as she called it-bronze goddesses. Courtney also reserved Ray to do the hair styling. I opted to keep my hair up and off my back, just so it could be out of the way for the busy day ahead.
My sister was the last to get her hair and makeup done, as the bride should be the freshest, so my Mom and I thought it’d be best to head back to the hotel and pick up some sustenance for all of us. She told me about a smoothie place called Ignite which was close by, so we got ourselves smoothies to hold us over until the reception dinner.
After getting our dresses on and packing anything else we might need, we headed to the Blue Aster Chapel. We were all so excited! I could tell my future brother in-law was nervous, but I knew he would do just fine. It was such a beautiful ceremony, and we were all ready to party it up. The reception was held at the Dusit Beach Resort, in the ballroom on their Mezzanine Level.
The next morning, we indulged in breakfast at the Palm Cafe buffet. One awesome highlight of this buffet was the omelet station. The chef made a smoked salmon omelet with a white wine reduction cream sauce and oh my gosh it was soooo good! Even though I was hungry, I made sure to pace so I didn’t get too full too fast.
After taking a food coma nap, we wanted to explore the hotel’s other restaurants and pool. The Dusit Beach Resort is connected to the Dusit Thani Hotel, so we were able to jump back and forth between the two. We walked on the outdoor skybridge and made our way to the Tasi Grill for lunch, their beachside spot also located by the pool. My family got chicken wings and fish tacos, but I enjoyed the Piri Piri Shrimp appetizer. After our meal, it was time to hit the beach! It was a but crowded with tourists, but we still had a great time and the ocean will always be big enough for everyone to get some space.
The last indulgence for this day was catching Golden Hour at the Dusit Thani Lobby Lounge. They had the option for unlimited beer or wine or for a little more, you could also get unlimited cocktails. If I wasn’t breastfeeding my baby girl, I would have taken advantage of an all-you-can-drink deal, but instead I just got one Bourbon Mule which was absolutely delicious! We then enjoyed the beautiful Guam sunset to close out the day.
