Chicago deserved a beautiful Downtown ballpark for the Sox, not the ugly south side

This video proves they made a huge mistake not orienting the stadium outfield to face north towards the Chicago downtown skyline instead of east.

According to the Major League Baseball Rule 1.04, the line from the home base through the pitcher’s plate to the second base must run East Northeast. However, it is not mandatory for all the baseball fields. But this rule is suggested for sun purposes. From this concept, the term southpaw came from the left-handed pitchers. Pretty far from the Rate to the Loop not a good view anyway. as for aesthetics Comiskey2/ Cell/ Rate was one of the first modern ballparks. Quickly usurped by Camden Yards & many others. A good park but like Comiskey 1 it lacks the distinction of Fenway, Camden or Wrigley & will not see 100 yrs.

Who cares if the stadium is facing the downtown skyline? Just because other stadiums (which were built after Guaranteed Rate Field) do that does not mean the White Sox have to. There is no law. Not a mistake. The White Sox stadium is just fine the way it is. Anyone can look at the skyline whenever they want to when not attending a game.

@@gregoryleo4640i mean it had no good reason to face south east when the old park faced north east, on top of that the stadium is very closed in so you can’t see outside of it, baseball is great but a good thing about going to the ball park is also seeing the cities downtown
