I can almost guarantee that you are right. It's very likely that at some point he noticed how many of the comments on each of these is people offering their own choice of color name or expressing (mostly good natured) frustration/offence at his choices for being arbitrary, inconsistent, and not always very descriptive. I only watch these shorts like maybe a few times a month on average when I'm unfocused and spacing out on YT and the algorithm drops one of these right in front of me and I STILL noticed almost right away how many comments were about the color name. So the actual creator MUST be aware of it also since every half competent even mildly proactive YT creator is going to analyze trends in views/likes/comments. So I'd be extremely surprised if they realized that general engagement (the ultimate metric you want to maximize if you are a YT creator, even over view count) on these videos/shorts is super sensitive to their color name choices, which they must have if they aren't comatose or an advanced rogue AI bot, and yet DIDN'T make the connection that they could then increase engagement by intentionally choosing names that are slightly worse than what he'd really choose and specifically picked to be controversial or frustrating to this viewers. I'd be shocked if this is not the case. YT creators make little shifts like this in their channel's content/tone after analyzing their channels data all the time... or sometimes major shifts that drastically change the channel's content. Sometimes for better sometimes for worse. Data analysis isn't trivial and a lot of creators are data illiterate (either because they are, like a huge percentage of other creators, literally children, or else just have no past studying or working in a STEM field... and haven't yet figured out that this skill is necessary for growing their channel to career size up from hobby size... if that's a goal of theirs) other than spotting the most basic and obvious surface level trends. Sometimes their analysis is correct, but their adjustments turn out poorly any way because they were too obvious or cynical and motivated by greed over improving content and they just overestimated how far they could push their viewers in this way because the most general, broad strokes trend over all YT channels is to dilute content as much as possible into the minimum content into the max length of video... ie. the more your channel grows, the less content you can put out in each video, holding video length equal. But that's the MOST broad, general view over all of YT as a whole. This is a specific adjustment of content on a single channel that doesn't really affect "quantity of content per unit length of video", a very abstract metric anyway, probably impossible to rigorously define. It's difficult and extremely abstract to talk about "quantity" of content over "quality", which is much easy to define and much less abstract, but I think people know what I mean... in that a 5 minute video could have MUCH more "quantity" of content over a 25 minute video covering the same topic if it's more well researched, presented better, more information dense, and has a higher "meaningful information over meaningless fluff" ratio. It's therefore related to video quality in that higher quality content means higher quantity of content per minute of video, but it's not the same. Quantity is an amount while quality is an adjective/descriptor of some quantity of content. BUT it arguably does affect quality of content if a non-artist viewer genuinely wants to see an actual professional artists opinion on the name of a color that was generated pseudo randomly. Like, that's not the main appeal of these videos, but it's a part of it. It's not NOT a part of why viewers watch these things and you could probably use a poll to come up with some percentage of viewers who say they want to see the real choice of color name of a professional artist/the creator. So even though such a poll is probably impossible, you know that percentage number still "exists" in that it represents a number of viewers who certainly do exist and so this "adjustment" to the content has decreased the quality of the content for those viewers. Personally I think intentionally choosing worse names for the colors to increase viewer engagement is kind of exactly riding the line between "harmless" and "a little too cynical" and therefore it is interesting enough to make this 4 or 5 minute comment about.... because usually it's clearly one or the other.... being obviously done to increase engagement by simply improving the quality of the content.... or else being obviously done to increase engagement by cynically adjusting the "quantity of content per unit length of video" visibly downwards thus squeezing more video length and therefore more engagement out of less content..... because most creators aren't subtle or creative enough to blend in their data analysis motivated channel adjustments seamlessly/naturally.

@@bluefoxgalaxy6057 the reason I was mentioning that specific example, is because if you go to recent videos and find this video, there is a video right after (or before I don’t remember) about mixing blue and pink slime. The colors were EXACTLY the same. But the shade of blue and purple was named different. Hence light purple and lavender.
