Good vid, looks like you guys didnt get to stay near happo which is unfortunate, id say goryu is definitely one of the more difficult places to stay in hakuba. if you ever go back i have some recomendations.try stay near happo as you said booking is competitive in hakuba but sometimes you get lucky. Places to eat id recommend, Ramen Tottsuan epic ramen hard to get into with too many people, Maeda for lunch soba, Sobasyubou ZEN amazing cold soba and "japanese vibe", Yamagami huge gyoza plate with 30 gyoza and pretty good curry and although im reluctant to share this one honestly KIHACHI place is run by a family and its amazing in my opinion. Make sure your booking otherwise your very unlikely to get seats to eat anywhere at a decent time you can just ask your accommodation staff they will usually be able to help. Don't bother going to the Australian-washed bars like Blizzard, check at Hakubar instead it's tucked away under the shoe repair shop. If you are a powder head Goryu, 47, and Happo arnt the place to be, head out to Tsugaike or Cortina you will probably find more tree runs and backcountry off-piste. onsen recomendations are Kurashita and mimizuku. Hope you guys had fun.

Hey! These are AMAZING recommendations thank you so much for taking the time to share. We're planning on another trip there this winter and we will definitely keep all of this in mind. Did you have a car? Or just the bus system?
