Thank you so much for this! I have some midjourney images that I used to create a card deck in canva by adding text. Can I bring the cards into gigapixel and upscale them as a whole or do i need to go back to all the images, upscale images and re add to the card decks in canva?
@WadeMcMaster

No problem, thank you :) You can just upscale the cards from Canva, however for best results I'd do as you mentioned - upscale the initial images and import into a high res Canva file. Gigapixel may sometimes not be great with upscaling text

Thank you for ur detailed video. I am aware this video is aimed for AI Art. But just out of my curiosity may i ask, how well does it perform for photorealistic human faces and figues?
@WadeMcMaster
3 ай бұрын
Mostly it does but sometimes not so well. It does have a face enhance option that helps. If you want to know specifically for your own use, you can download it for free to try (but not save). I've used it on photos but when it does t quite deliver I've used gfpgan to restore the faces and blend the two images in Photoshop. I cover that in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/ooityKZobpSKdG0si=uwp7sC6vsulqHRP3

I tried the feature where you showed the resizing and changing the dpi from 72 to 300. When I bring the image back into Photoshop (using the program as a plugin) it's still 72 dpi when you look in the image size. Would you have to manually change it to 300 after bringing it into Photoshop?
@WadeMcMaster
23 күн бұрын
You could do that. But I would recommend not worrying about it - as DPI (dots per inch) should be viewed as Pixels per inch. The only thing that actually make sup the image resolution is the pixels - so as long as your image has at least 300 pixels width/height for each inch of width/height of the final print size, you're set. However - if you feel better about the file being 300dpi in the description, then you can simply change it to that in Photoshop

Awesome video! When we create wall art how do we figure out the actual size we can print up to. Like an 8x10 or a 24x36 and in between.
@WadeMcMaster

I would find the recommended dpi from your printer, at that size is really doesn't need to be 300dpi. And however that calculates into a maximum.of 20,000px on the long edge of the image. I would simply try the height or width option, setting the recommended dpi (ppi in this case, same thing) then entering the size in inches and seeing if topaz will allow an image that big

Both are upscalers but photo ai has more enhancement features and selection to apply enhancements to certain areas - Gogapixel is purely upscale and basic Denoise etc

The best feature, it runs locally, no upload to cloud! So I think if you have family photos or photos or art you don't want uploaded to the cloud, this might be a perfect choice. I find the generative AI cloud upscale sites to be better if your art is not perfect like really poor quality, generative upscales like Leonardo change your image with prompts, so if your batman logo looks wonky it can fix that. But If you got images or art you are happy with and just need to upscaled, beautifully sharpened, this seems perfect. Have you tried any really low quality images like 600x400? and run it through a few times, like jump it 2x, then use that image to jump 3x again? Or like that turtle image what if you took the 6x and ran that through for another 3x? how BIG could you go..LOL. That would be interesting because I upscale low res like that with generative "cloud" upscales because they seem to do miracle upscales but you don't get a perfect reproduction so for family photos it's not great. Anyway very interesting and now on my list of tools I'm thinking about, I agree with you we need multiple tools for different jobs.

Thank you for the thoughtful comment! Iove that it runs locally, I have tried very small images in the past and got some decent results too. I often double upscaled, the most it will go to is about 20,000 PC on the long edge of an image , and even then it can still crash. I'm working out some methods to make the crash less likely tho :) I will be doing a tips video soon enough ! Have a great day mate! Thanks again :)
