Reddit sent me here for info on my Jaguar build...turns out I bought the body you sent back lol. It worked out because Coke Bottle Sparkle was never quite green enough for me so when I saw it I jumped on it. It says "Moss or Emerald" on it, but I'm calling it Jungle Sparkle.

NO WAY, hey Sean! How's the body holding up? I love that my misfortune worked out so well for you, and in such a specific way. That body was absolutely gorgeous and if moss or "Jungle" had been my goal, I mean damn! What did you end up doing with the body?

@@Puisheen I've got nearly all the parts for it, just waiting on pots, switches, and a few other things. Got the Novak Jag-V bridge and the Lipstick neck and I'm going to do the American Professional wiring setup. I still need the correct upper control plate which I can't seem to find, some strap buttons, and the courage to start drilling holes in this beauty.

Been watching your channel for a few months now. Although my youtube channel is a completely different genre, I have been building a 65 jaguar replica for a couple of months and your videos have help TREMENDOUSLY. If your curious it's an All Parts licensed nitro neck with a 7.25 radius finished in light nitro. I added a vintage decal, on a squire vintage modified surf green body, lightly relic'd. I put AVRI Tremolo and cloth wiring in it, with new pots and caps. I built it to give my self a guitar i could leave out while my kids were around ( i can't just leave my 69 mustang out, its become too valuable!) But it has become my favorite guitar thanks in part to your channel. Congrats on building a bigger subscriber base. It is challenging but you deserve it. Also that jag body is amazing. I have been feeling the need to build a jazzmaster next because of you though!

Very cool and congrats, Mike! Back in 2018, I had the opportunity to go out to CA and attend the Surf Guitar 101 forums convention. While out there, I went on a tour of the Fender Corona factory and saw Dave W. working but I didn't have a chance to talk to him at that point. Fortunately, later in the early evening, I attended a pre-party at one of the local SG101 Con attendees' home to hang out with fellow Surf players and enthusiasts. I met and had a nice chat with Dave W. there. Super nice guy! Now ya have me looking at Guitar Mill for a project - thanks!

If the dice isn't your thing there's an Etsy seller called Opposed Action Initiative that make D&D style die knobs and they're amazing. They can do custom stuff, really good prices. They made the ones John Dwyer uses on his guitars if you know who he is. I bought some for my Esquire and they are perfect! You can check em out on Instagram too.

Oh man! Mike, I'm super happy for you. That body is breathtaking! The guitar is pretty cool too. Hahahah. All jokes aside, what an amazing paint job. Well Mike, you truly deserve it. Thanks for all the useful info you share wih us. It's much appreciated and it's definitely helped me. Last year I bit the bullet and dropped some serious cash on my dream guitar. I picked up the 2018 60th anniversary '58 reissue Jazzmaster. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play it before purchasing. I had to order it from out of Province as it was a limited run and there were very few left. My first impressions after recieving it and giving it a good play was that it didnt seem like my dream guitar. I was definitely underwhelmed! I've been playing guitar since I was 12 (30 years ago😮)and setups haven't been an issue for me for some time. However, I quickly realized that the Jazzmaster is its own special kind of monster. Luckily all of the tips and tricks you have generously shared with us did the trick. It is now a dream come true. Thanks Mike! Take care.😁

@@Puisheen its beautiful. Sounds and plays great now too. I like the gold anodized guard on the 2 tone burst. I also like the tele style knobs. Only thing I switched out was the saddles. I ordered some titanium notched saddles from Halon. I may still get a mastery one of these days but as for now Im very happy. I think it was my best option for the price at $2999 CAD. Hopefully one day I will have a nice vintage early 60's or even a custom shop. Until then Im happy to finally be in the Jazzmaster family and I fell like I have a hell of a starter.

Congrats on the drop dead gorgeous guitar. Just a heads up, if you end up wanting to keep the traditional style rhythm circuit but want to incorporate the 4 way series switching, you'll have to spring for a 4PDT slide switch. Digikey has some (but the slider is too squared off at the top), or you can order one from Amazon that has the right slider (hit or miss on availability). Alternatively, Fender uses that very same switch in the American Pro II Jazzmaster. Keep making sick videos!

That's gorgeous - maybe you should call this one Yoda? or Boba Fett?? Also on a side note: What are your thoughts on Fender's micro tilt adjustment thing? Do you think it's a good enough solution for adjusting neck angle, or would you still recommend using a shim?
@Puisheen
3 жыл бұрын
Yoda's good... I haven't even thought about names yet. Also, I love the micro tilt. I think it's a genius and underutilized invention, and I wish Fender had added it to offsets before the Pro series which has an angled pocket and therefore never needs the tilt function.
