As a die hard Bon Iver fan, this is possibly their most basic song to react to from a music standpoint. 33 GOD, 45, deathbreast. Essentially anything from their NPR live concert would give you loads more to react to and dissect. The version of Creature Fear from that NPR concert is phenomenal - way more to comment on.

Finally got to see Bon Iver live for the first time this past summer. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. His setlist was perfect from front to back and to experience this version of Blood Bank live was a spiritual experience.

I saw them on this tour (I think a night or two before this? I saw them in Boston) and it was incredible. I usually hate arena shows but they managed to make it feel way more intimate even with the spectacular visuals, and the mixing was perfect. I've been to hundreds of concerts and it was easily top 5 for me.

Love Bon Iver and their huge atmospheric sound they’ve developed. You should check out their vocal only performance of Heavenly Father at the Sydney opera house with the Staves. Their guitar arrangements don’t stand out to me in particular, their self titled album probably has the most in that aspect. I love Bon iver for the stripped down earlier acoustic work, the falsetto and lyric content as well as some of the later keyboard and electronic driven work.

I like what I can make out of the lyrics, but the problem I have with today's music is that vocals are too far in the background, drowned out by everything else. I long for the old days when they put the vocals up front. What's the point of having awesome lyrics if you can't make them out? Today's musicians need better mixing, both in the studio and live.

So bon Iver is more alternatie folky. His first album, "for emma," came from a very dark place. If i recall, he went to his father's cabin in a depressive state with the intention of possible suicide. Instead, he came out 3 months later with that album. A lot of his lyrics are pretty heavy or dark. He is a beautiful soul and songwriter.
