I've noticed only delay on her vox ever in these live videos. The way she'll sub in a scream live for a part that was sung on the record makes it impossible for a sound crew to know when to kick in a pitch shift for her screams. The non-musician doubters will never notice why it's just not possible to fake her performances.

Funny story here, I use to own my own small sound and lighting production business in Arizona before C-19 killed it back in 2020. I was doing a Hard Style EDM event at the small place called Club Red in Mesa, AZ. It has two venue rooms and I was in the smaller one setting up with my crew. I remember seeing this big tour bus pull up in the back and out comes this chick and a couple of dudes. No clue who they were. I remember going to the rest room and I ran into her first just outside the ladies and mens restroom and she said hello and her band mates follow up there and she asked me was I setting up for the show and I said yes like she wanted to ask me something but I said I'm in the next room. Her band mates were cool as we all hit the mens restroom together. I heard them talking in some language so in the rest room I asked and they said we are an Ukraine so I like cool nice to meet you guys and have a good show. So hours later as we start our show and they start there set in the next venue room. I still didn't know who there were. I did hear them at sound check and I thought it was one of the guys screaming and growling until I walked back stage as I have that access as crew member. I was like Holy Hell its that girl as the lead singer. I remember telling my guys, its that chick growling and screaming next door at sound check. Later as the shows were going on, I was getting text messages and FB messages asking me was I doing lighting for this band and I remember why are so many people asking me this. Later on I did there research to find out who this band was. You should checkout Pisces in studio version.

Hey Michael, I glad you decided to react to/analyze Jinjer. I've been a keyboardist and vocalist since I was a kid and I've played in multiple bands over the years in various genres, but I was never into metal music with scream/growl harsh vocals until I discovered Jinjer and another metalcore band, Spiritbox, last year and I've fallen in love with both bands. what drew me to those bands was the diverse, consistently great songwriting, excellent musicianship and the incredible vocals of Tatiana from Jinjer and Courtney from Spiritbox, with both of them having the ability to transition instantly from beautiful clean singing to some of the best harsh vocals I've heard, female or male (although, I would say that Tatiana...aka Tati...is the absolute queen of harsh vocals). If you want to continue to dip your feet into the rabbit hole of Jinjer material, I can think of three songs/videos that would show their diversity...Perennial (live from Wacken 2019 video); Judgement and Punishment (live one take vocal performance video); Wallflower (official video...which is very cool and the song has a nice groove). BTW, I just saw Jinjer perform live at the House of Blues in Boston last month and they rocked the place!

I forgot to mention that even though Jinjer is generally classified as metalcore, the members have said that they hate being lumped into one specific genre because they like to incorporate influences from many genres of music into their songwriting (Tatiana is a fan of reggae/ska, hence the reggae feel at the end of this song and in their song Judgement and Punishment)

Yup that's all her. She uses her entire vocal system from top to bottom to get that resonance. You can't really "autotune" or pitch shift that stuff. A pitch shifter takes everything that comes in and shifts it down or up. It doesn't differentiate between what a singer does with their vocal chords (or in this case their false chords and soft pallet) and what they do with their teeth and tongue like "T" and "S" and "P" and "D" which doesn't change whether they talk, sing or scream. With a pitch shifter all of that is shifted down or up. If you hear those sounds the same way you would if they were talking or singing clean vocals it's not a pitch shifter. Tatiana has I think I've counted four or five different harsh vocal sounds she can do. The higher ones are more like screams or shouts the lower ones are pretty wild (their song Pit of Consciousness). I have a KZitem playlist of live Jinjer stuff you could look through if you like. kzitem.info/door/PLhlYsqoR9XLEpHTbaOovrpa1p8L2uZ81G. They also do more guitar, drum and bass playthroughs of their songs than I have seen from any other band.

Hey Michael! I saw you at Chaps yesterday while I was waiting for a friend of mine. I was going to say hi but you were talking to a friend and I didn’t want to interrupt. Thanks for the content and happy holidays!

Seen them 3 times. Yep, it’s that tight lol. She’s on another level (as they all are).

Great video as usual. Glad to see you hear this band. This is one of their older songs and somewhat simple as compared with their newer stuff. I think you'd love something like Vortex or Judgement and Punishment even Teacher Teacher. Hope to hear one of these songs on your channel soon.

Well, well.. If you decide to continue down this road, you're in for a treat. The usual next step is "Perennial LIVE at Wacken 2019", Teacher teacher OMV, or the introductory "Pisces LIVE session" that got all this rolling.

Been waiting for you to do this one! Great job. Very underrated bassist.
