Young Lyari Girl and Boys Boxing Club is a Boxing Club run by a former boxing player Nawab Baloch. The club offers boxing training to young boys and girls of Lyari in order for them to learn the art as well as to facilitate them to pursue a habit of training.
Nawab Baloch co-founded the club with a friend, and he has since coached a number of individuals in boxing. According to Nawab Baloch, he formed when Pakistan Sports first recognized female boxing legal in Pakistan. Sindh’s government set up boxing training camps. It encouraged Nawab Ali Baloch to continue training girls and women to compete in the Championship. To do this, he initially began coaching his family members in order to motivate and train them for the tournament.
Back in the day, there was no facility available for them. The place they now stand at was an open ground. And Nawab Baloch didn’t want for girls to play in the open ground so he with Sindh Government turned the ground with a boundary wall which now stands tall into a training camp to encourage women to take part in Lahore National Boxing Championship.
In the Lahore National Boxing Championship, Gul Jan won Gold Medal. Ever since then Gul jan continues to train herself as well as the people of Lyari and trains them for boxing. The audience that comes there for the training includes girls from 6 years and onwards.
Nawab Baloch himself trains every girl for boxing and takes great pride in encouraging women to pursue boxing because he feels that if the sport is played by girls worldwide, our girls are more than capable of competing and winning.
