I only saw a shortened version of this on DVD, and watching the full episode here makes full sense why the king pardoned the dragon.

I love that when the characters do some actions, it's filmed in real time with no stop motion used (like when Gumby turns on the water hose)

When Gumby demonstrates the water hose for the good knight, the Capitol stock music playing underneath fits pretty well, too.

@@ZakWolf Yeah, I know. I've seen those episodes lots of times. I too agree that those early humans in the early episodes didn't always look the best. Don't get me wrong, I like the handmade, homemade look of the early stuff, it is very charming in it's simplicity, but still, sometimes they don't look very good. And that was one of those times. *Edit: I'm not mad or annoyed, don't read this as that*

Yep; "Spongebob" has used a few Capitol Hi-Q stock music cues. So has "Ren and Stimpy", six Looney Tunes cartoons from 1958, and the really early Hanna-Barbera stuff. I remember the music cue at 2:12 playing at the start of several "Huckleberry Hound" cartoons.
