I live in Orange County California and despite what you've heard, we aren't all driving a Bentley to our beach front property. I went in for my CCW interview on Tuesday April 7th unaware that the law had reverted back to having to show "good cause" in order to legally carry. The sheriff that I interviewed with told me about a woman who was seeking her CCW because she owned a $75,000.00 wedding ring and wanted to protect herself against a "would be" robber. This was good enough cause and her paperwork got sent through. ME on the other hand couldn't give a good enough reason other than protecting myself in a life or death situation, if one should occur. This was unacceptable and I was rejected my right to carry. You are absolutely right that the wealthy live in a different world. Carrying in California without a permit is a misdemeanor and I'll risk that all day long to protect myself. Fuck you Sheriff Hutchens!!!

I agree the way California and the left in general regards the 2nd amendment is ridiculous and defying the constitution, but climate change is real and one of the biggest threats to humanity as a whole, if not THE biggest. It's like evolution, completely proven with no evidence to the contrary, yet people still think it's something you can "believe" in, it's not about belief it's about whether or not you want to acknowledge reality or remain ignorant to it.

I never said anything about climate change. I believe in it because science say that it is happening, and it doesn't take a genius to know that 97 degrees in the middle november isn't normal. However, though i think it is one of the biggest threats to humanity the biggest threat has to be nuclear war because if nuclear war breaks out, then there pretty much won't be any human, or life. But climate change is definitely an undeniable threat.

This being 9 years later, as a new resident of Colorado I can say they must of fixed there gun laws because now you can buy pretty much anything. We got extended mags, you can get silencers with a little extra paper work, plenty of ARs and AKs and you don’t even need a permit to buy a pistol or an SBR. Since I’ve been here I’ve bought an AK hellpup SBR, a Glock 19, an AR-12 shotgun, and the mac11 clone called the MPA30.

well, just remember its a moral responsibility. its a symbol of Freedom, Liberty and independence. its also the corner stone of all our inherent rights. im sure you knew this already but i feel like this kind of knowledge has been forgotten so i spread to whomever i can, whenever i can. as for the gun control laws, you can either try to vote them out, or just move out. of course, thats up to you. here in colorado we passed a few nonsensical gun laws. they just barely made it into law so im confident we can vote them out, especially since the republicans took over. yes, i know the red and blue are two wings of the same bird but the republicans are definitely the lesser of the two evils. so whenever i can only choose between republicans and democrats, i choose republicans. otherwise i vote third party.

I live in California. I am a staunch Liberal, but I like and I know a lot about firearms. Frankly, firearms/weapons and related liberties are considered expendable by our courts and legislature. It really sucks even for kids like me who don't actually own guns. Because two police officers impulsively shot a kid stupidly carrying an airsoft AK with the orange tip sawed off, there's talk of a new law to ban airsoft guns that are not either brightly colored or clear plastic. When kids like me complain that this neuters the sport of airsoft and makes us all look like idiots, we're told that "safety" trumps everything. Every time there's a tragedy even remotely involving a firearm, the politicians and courts use it as an excuse to throw more potential unfair laws and rulings into play. Every time someone commits suicide from being harassed or cyber-bullied, do we talk of putting into play new laws that limit 1st Amendment Rights? No. It's fear-driven malarkey at its worst.
@rustysausage69
10 жыл бұрын
Ex-fuckin_actly According to the recent doings of congress and politicians, if there are kids who suffer from cyber-bullying, then why don't they just ban computers as they will 99.99% ban firearms? Unfortunately, the argument for guns and sadly, airsoft guns also, will go on for a few more years. Its inevitable most likely 5-10 years from now that the guns will be of no use and protection because there are so many god damn restrictions to what kind of magazine or gun you have to own for it to abide. EXAMPLE--December 2012, there was an act that tried to ban the 5.7x28mm FN cartridge, because it can pierce light body armor. Congress is still assessing it. Little do they know that FMJ rounds from 9mm above can pierce light armor too, especially going into the 7.62 NATO rounds and up to 50bmg. TL;DR The government is corrupt, and they're conserving safety of civilians everywhere AS A WHOLE by degrading guns because guns are dangerous, and aren't considering individual protection that firearms give people. Protection as a whole is what the Military, SWAT and Police forces is about, not depriving people of protection that has served them well for 230 years. When guns are banned, shit is reeeally going to go down...

Damn right! I'm a liberal, but like you, I like guns and know a fair amount about them. I can think of another very recent and very silly law: Maryland's ban on Everclear. According to MD lawmakers, they're trying to keep it out of the hands of college kids. Of course, being college kids, there's no way in hell they're going to stop drinking. So now, the law that was made with good intentions turns into something unnecessary and that's doing nothing but hurting the people who legitimately use Everclear. For example, cake bakers use Everclear to dissolve pigments so that they can brush the pigment on fondant and not have to wait a year for it to dry. String instrument makers use Everclear to dissolve resin so that when they repair a violin with new wood, they can color the new wood to match the rest of the instrument. Now, they all have to find something else. I know that guns and Everclear are not the same, but the point is that laws are made with good intentions but sometimes, those laws only end up hurting innocent people who have nothing to do with why the law was made in the first place.

Hey guys. thanks for doing this video. i'm a gun owner and avid shooter living in california and its nice to know that other people know what we are struggling with. i just thought i could help clear a couple things up real quick. first, the bullet button laws have various exceptions and clauses as to where it has to be used and doesn't have to be used, and I'd be happy to go over that in more detail for you. as far as the magazines go, so called "high capacity" magazines are legal to own, provided you owned them before the federal ban went in to effect in 1994 (I believe that's the right year), BUT they can't be put in to a gun that has been deemed by the state as an "assault weapon" (any gun that meets the criteria to, in the state's eyes, require a bullet button), and doing so is considered to be a felony in the state's eyes, bullet button or not. and i believe there is no way to tell the difference between a pre-ban and post ban magazine. the "restricted" markings, if i remember correctly, are placed only on the "high capacity" magazines that are in the state and for sale to police/government only. its also currently illegal to import any "high capacity" magazines into the state, so it is illegal for me to go to a gun store in Nevada or some other state, purchase a 30 round AR magazine and bring it back to California. And NOW, starting today, it is illegal to buy or import magazine parts kits capable of being assembled into magazines that can carry more than 10 rounds, even if you buy a block with it, it is now a felony in the state's eyes, leaving lawful owners of pre-ban magazines helpless if their magazine needs a new part. And California's laws do not single out magazines as the only effected part of these laws, they state "ammunition feeding device", so you were correct on your 10 round belt comments. Also, you touched on the handgun registration topic; as of today as well, any rifle, shotgun, or any gun classified as a long gun must be registered like a handgun when it is transferred. They've also passed a law banning the use of ammunition containing any lead for hunting state-wide, to take effect in mid-2016. So now we have to use up all of our lead hunting ammo and buy only lead-free ammo, which in many cases costs more than three times as much. I could go on about this for hours. I really do feel like a sub-citizen having to live with these outrageous gun control laws. The only law relating to guns that California has that makes just a little sense is having to pass a written test to obtain a Handgun Safety Certificate, so the FFL at least knows that the person knows how to safely handle and operate a firearm. I really want to move from this state, but like you said, this is where my family is and where I'm currently attending college so I don't have much choice there at the moment, and moving from my family would be hard to do. I hope our politicians can get their heads on straight soon and start realizing that they can't constitutionally take any of our rights away, because their current behavior is completely unacceptable. alright, my rant's over. thanks for reading, and I'd be happy to answer anyone's questions to the best of my abilities

While I do think Californian and New York gun laws seem a bit overkill, limiting magazine ammo capacity does make sense, at least for states like those. It'd be much easier to kill a hundred people in a shooting spree in California than it would be here in Iowa, given California's much higher population. And when you're hunting (I know self defense is a totally different story), if you really NEED more than 10 rounds (7 in NY) one right after the other in order to hit something effectively, let's just say I wouldn't want to go hunting with you. Anyways, good videos guys, keep it up :)

6236003 I'm not saying they have a right to tell you how much of something you should have, or whether or not you need to defend yourself. I personally think it's important to have some means of self defense. And like almost every reasonable pro-gun person knows, limiting/eliminating guns from the states won't help, then we'll end up attempting to defend ourselves with knives from criminals with black-market guns, so it'll just cause more crime and trouble. The worst, and fishiest, part in my opinion is that you've gotta know that every single anti gun politician has a concealed carry permit, or a ton of armed body guards 24/7, so everything they preach about self defense being unnecessary is total hypocrisy. So, if the majority of politicians cared about being truthful, what they would be saying is "Guns are unnecessary for self protection! Unless of course you're talking about us, in which case forget EVERYTHING we just told you."

***** First of all, you wouldn't have to go as far as Iowa to get a high cap magazine to smuggle back into CA, which is one of the flaws in the system. Second, no, I have not been involved in any life-or-death scenario like your example. Third, I never said it wasn't a flawed system, it's quite the opposite actually. I do understand that criminals don't obey laws, and they'll get whatever cap. magazines they want because of that. I was just saying I can understand why the CA government thought limiting it to 10 rounds was a good idea. But I do agree with you overall, I think 90% of CA's gun laws that most other states don't have are total crap that don't really help anyone. Except criminals, most laws just make it easier for them to rob/kill/attack someone without as much risk of being attacked.

STARBOT AWESOME Police 99% of the time fight the same type of threats an armed citizen might come up against, and they find the need for higher capacity magazines than 10 or 7, even their basic pistols for street or squad car cops excede that limit. Some squad cars, even in less major areas than huge cities, have AR15's with large magazines. Other than SWAT who I'm not talking about, those other types of police are going up against the same type of threats a person will likely go up against if they were to need to use their gun. The point, the professionals think addressing these threats can be benefitted by these kinds of guns, so if you do believe in guns for self defense, than you must also logically agree that in this modern age such mag sizes are needed as a practical option just in case. You were asking "why' such mags are needed. Well it is a constitutional right so a need shouldn't be a pre-requisite, however, I did explain the practical need for civilians to be allowed such mags.

My buddy in AZ has a gun he wants to sell, he gave it to me to try out. I'm a responsible US citizen and no hoops to jump through.

Actually, San Bernardino County or Riverside county is the easiest places to get a CCWL. Once you apply you get your license in a couple of months that's all.

California does allow Destructive Devices with a permit called *Collector of Destructive Devices?. However applicants are required to sign a statement that must be notarized claiming that any DD's owned will NEVER be fired or discharged by anyone. The license is pretty much limited to collecting purposes.

When it comes to AR's with bullet buttons we have modified the 10 round legal mags that have the tool attached to the mag. modify your manual of arms and the bullet button has been made useless

I live in CA and the only guns without detachable magazines are AR's. I'm not a fan of AR's that's why most of my firearms are Springfield M1A's cuz those don't have featureless or fixed mags. For shotguns, you don't need a drum mag. There are certain shotguns where they can use a Arredondo speed loader to load the shells.

I have been moderately liberal for most of my life, but stuff like this infuriates me. I don't know why we should allow the government to limit legally-purchased guns people depend on to protect themselves while criminals continue to acquire guns by whatever means they wish. Unless you're doing a full-scale search (like they do to some vehicles at the border of U.S. and Mexico for drugs, which still doesn't entirely work) then people will still obtain guns illegally.

But I can't stand the gun laws here and my wife is slowly coming around. We may leave here within the next year. Cost of living is really high and we are way over taxed..She is from Texas and we have family there. Im ready to go. Crime rate has really gone out of control. Our kids need a better life.

The big problem with the entire logic of limiting features on any military style gun is that they are inherently modular by design. It wouldn't take but a few minutes to convert any gun into a standard configuration

All new semi auto handguns have to have a magazine disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator. One must pass the HSC test to purchase a handgun, wait the 10 days, and also pass a safe handling demonstration. (I'm not totally against a safe handling demo.) You have to be over 21 to buy a pistol grip only shotgun, even though you could buy a shotgun and a pistol grip separately when you're 18. ...Just a few you missed. Things I deal with

I live in a very conservative and isolated county in northern California and it is very frustrating to put up with laws that we don't agree with. LA has all the say on every aspect of our lives and yet it's far more troubled, violent and rich. Our tax laws are based on an economy that doesn't exist here. It's getting to the point where we aren't going to continue being part of this state, that is spiraling out of control.

I just bought my first bolt rifle in California. I'm currently in my ten day waiting period to receive possession of the rifle: even though I already own semi auto rifles, handguns, and have a valid CA CCW. I'm legally carrying my Glock around while having to wait through a "cooling off period" to get a bolt action. It doesnt have to be logical to be law here in Kalifornia.

Great videos guys. You missed a new California gun restriction related to hunting. Non lead ammunition. I live 3 miles from the dividing line where lead ammunition can be used to hunt big game. There is almost no non lead ammunition, read copper, on shelves here. My Dad lives 3 hours from here in an area where ammunition is not restricted and we spent half a day driving around trying to find a box of non lead 300 win mag. Nothing to be had. I've spent the last few weeks trying to find a way to keep from paying $4/shot for 12 gauge slugs to hunt hogs. The short answer is no one is really sure what to do short of handloading barnes bullets. I'll figure it out but it's just another burden to be shouldered.

The thing is, LA county is a big place. I live in the middle of the desert, but it's LA county so the law's are stricter. I can't even get a CCW here, civilians aren't allowed to get them. Which I don't understand because LA county is the place you're going to want a CCW the most.

As California resident and gun owner I do hate these gun laws. They are just ridiculous. The most frustrated thing about is mag release lock on AR and AK. AR is a little bit fine because we can get the UBBT ( Ultimate Bullet Button Tool ) which is very easy to release the mag. The other thing about is the limit in ammunition. In handguns I'm still ok with 10 rounds but come on, on AR and AK really ? I can't even warm up with one mag :( so I bought 10 magazines for my AR with UBBT installed in it. But anyway I do envy you guys don't have the gun law like we have in CA. Eric I will move to near your store in Jonesboro, GA in the future and have some fun with you guys. Please keep voting Do Not let those bill pass in your state. We do vote here also just not enough people vote for it :(

This is all true and I hate the fact because of this new and completely absurd micro-stamping bullshit the majority of our access to semi-automatic pistols, especially from Smith & Wesson and Ruger are now barred from the average citizen in California. I wanted to get a new Ruger SR1911 Commander for home defense but nope, doesn't have their fantasy stamp on the firing pin (that can be filed down with sand paper for Christ's sake) so I can't get it so I got a revolver instead. I can't have an AR rifle like I did in the Marines that has a quick release 30-round mag because of these stupid laws I'm not even going to bother with them while I'm stuck in this Nazi state. I guess I'm fortunate that I love older guns from the 19th century such as the old west and black powder. I can still order a black powder gun online and get it mailed to my house in California with no background checks or waiting period. I may not be able to own a .50 caliber sniper rifle but I can still have an old fashioned .58 caliber musket that fires a soft lead minie ball that can take a man's arm off.

So if i have a California complaint ar 15 and i was attacked by a bear that ate 3lb of cocaine, after killing the smuggler drug dealer. Use all 10 rounds but it didn't do the job my only option is to ask the bear to stop so i can get my key to reload or use the rifle as a club.

So, can I come live in Georgia? I live in San Joaquin County with a Sheriff who claims to be 'shall issue' even though from what I hear, less than 5% of CCW applicants are approved. We are also surrounded by other counties who ARE 'shall issue'. Next year there's a guy running for sheriff who is saying 'personal protection' is a good enough reason for him. Maybe it will be a step in the right direction.
