Governments commit atrocities too, even on their own people, why are they to be trusted? either guns for all or all guns gone. but i promise guns could be a thing of that past but mass murder will always exist. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Anti-gunners ask why we keep saying that and when will be stop. We say that because it's true and we won't stop saying it until it registers with the anti-gunners, if ever. A lot of anti-gunners also (correctly) point out that Prohibition and the Drug War failed, but think gun bans will work. That is supremely arrogant of them, to assume that a prohibition will work because it's THEIR idea. Something else anti-gunners don't seem to understand is that someone determined to commit murder is not going to be deterred by any new gun law. I don't know what the technical term for it is but 1st degree murder is the most illegal thing anyone can do. It is the only crime that is still routinely punished by death. Someone who is determined to commit 1st degree murder is probably not going to care that the weapon they're using is illegal. They probably won't give a damn that the murder(s) will be committed in a place designated "gun-free." I think the biggest problem is how people are approaching this issue. A lot of people tend to think that "gun crimes" are a separate and anomalous issue. They aren't. The conditions that lead to all manner of other crime also lead to "gun crime." The issue is much more complicated than the legal availability of firearms; mass shootings are but a symptom of a much larger problem.

I used to take mine off when I went to malls til a couple years ago when i adopted my "ignore no gun signs" policy. And then you have to wonder if maybe there were carriers there who were more worried about getting their own families to safety than being heroes, most carriers i know only go to the mall because someone in the family wants to go to the mall and not one of them would abandon their significant others or children. Hell, if I've got a clear way out and the shooting isn't in my general area and I'm all by myself I'm probably going to exit immediately, the notion that everyone should rely on someone else to save them is what got us to the point where a singlr person with a gun can slaughter people wholesale without any resistance.

@@SuspiciousGanymede felony trespass is better than mass murder victim any day of the week. And that's why I carry everywhere, even places where it actually could get me in trouble. Acquire a beer gut and slide that holster around front and hide the pistol underneath if you have to.

@Jim Watson I rock a full size steel framed double stack .45 most of the time in a hybrid iwb holster and as long as it's situated properly nobody knows it's there. But, I've been losing a lot of weight and I almost have to appendix carry it at this point to be well concealed so it may be time to downgrade to the g26 or g19.

I guess the mental people who commite these acts of murder must not be so crazy when they choose to hit easy targets and never a place they know is armed. And too the people who say their are shooters who are not affraid to die and hope to die. Then why not go shoot up a place that has armed gaurds or armed employees or citizens if they are not affraid to die. Why not go shoot up a gun show? Thousands of people attend them shows why not shoot them up. Oh wait their is guns everywhere thats why.

You don't want to arm teachers, you want to get somebody outside of the education field for security. Teachers are known for bad life choices, I graduated from high school in 2012. While in the public school system I've had multiple teachers that had suicide attempts, got caught messing around with underage students of both sexes. One tried to kill their spouse. Public Educators have zero accountability among their ranks, and are the opposite of model citizens. The amount of crime and bad decisions The Faculty at my high school made outnumber the bad decisions Marines of I MEF for 5 years per capita. Note I MEF has 9th crime I mean 9th COMM, and 3rd LAR. You know those units that are known for coming up on the blotter after every weekend

Another way you could is the bombers were protected deeper into Germany with the help of the longer range P-51s therefore bringing more bomber home. This is an excellent presentation; from the detailed narrative regarding "no gun zones", to the ideas presented to lessen the environment where a mass shooting can occur. The bottom line is that there is no "be all to end all shootings"; but there are definitely steps that CAN and SHOULD be taken, virtually WITHOUT government expense; to create a safer environment in this nation through gun MANAGEMENT, NOT "gun control". LEGAL gun owners exercise appropriate gun control; the government NEEDS to allow that to be the case!
