Tell that to Philando Castile... The problem isn't the citizens, the problem is the police.

This is actually good advice if you respectful and chill to a cop, they are respectful and chill to you I’d say at least like 80% of the time

I've never had any trouble with police directly, but if for any reason I was pulled over or otherwise approached my first rule would be to not offer any information until it become immediately necessary and am given a just reason to provide said information. What I'm doing, where I'm going, where I'm coming from, what is in the car/house, who is with me. If the officer wants to perform an inspection then a warrant or otherwise justification must be given, if a citation is going to be given then go ahead and I will see you in court to review it, if you wish for me to step outside the vehicle and provide justification for the order then and only then will I state that I am actively carrying and how I am going to store it during this engagement. So far the only major interactions I've had are finding a 4oz bag of meth that fell off a customer vehicle while I was at work and the responding officer was not concerned with me carrying and guarding it while waiting for his arrival, and the other is while I was in college I received threats from staff due to a disability and when I reported it the police told me to go away and they wouldn't investigate unless the staff acted upon those threats against me and/or other students.

Your assumption that a cop will be courteous is a joke, right?

Every single time I’ve had an interaction with a cop which is multiple times and have been respectful to them and chill. They have been chill and respectful to me.

Negative!!!! Never tell the police you have a firearm. We have constitutional rights and one of them is not say a word to the police.

Texan here with an LTC. If I am in my POV they already know I'm an LTC holder and am likely carrying. They usually don't bring it up in a TS. I still hand over my License to drive and my LTC. Now if I am in a different vehicle that is not mine, I only inform them if I am being taken out of the vehicle that I either have a weapon in the vehicle or on my person, and where it is. Only if I am asked to exit the vehicle. I used to announce almost as soon as they finished the introduction, but a lot of times, it's a TO (Training Officer) and a rookie, and the rookie would get super nervous. I'm not joking when I say out of the 25 to 30 times I've been pulled over, 90% of the time there is a TO and a rookie in that cruiser. Anyway. With my personality and being a veteran MP, I'm usually more comfortable and safe not outright announcing that I am carrying a firearm until it NEEDS to be said.

Then the cop will shoot you and claim that you were making furtive movements.

Keep your mouth shut and invoke the 5th ammendment. Or at least the don't bring up that you have a weapon in the car. It's none of their business. If you got pulled over a traffic violation, deal with that in court.
