Such a Badass performance, even the band had a little slip and yes Axel's voice lacks power on this tune but the energy at this show was electric and the highs blew the lows out of the water, Long Live Rock'n'Roll🤘

Axl and GN'R are contracted to play 90 minutes a show. They regularly play three hours or more. So basically two shows for the price of one. No he doesn't always nail every song but so what? He's lost a ton of weight, sounds great on most songs and generally looks and sounds amazing for 60.

@@jeremyloder9788 Yes indeed. I saw them several shows since the reunion. They are fantastic. Play for 3 hrs which is an anomaly in live concerts. It’s rock n roll it’s not going to be perfect for 20~28 songs every show. Unlike many of their contemporaries, they perform live not Tape playbacks etc. He always sounds better when u r at the show

GnR is awesome, but are you judging this only on listening to the on-line recording (not a fair way to judge their show), or did you attend the show, and then thought it was awful? (maybe GnR is not your cup of tea?)

he still has the rasp, it seems somehow he doesnt use it all the time. he is still as badass as he was but he manages his technique wrong.

I am not an expert on vocal technique, but Axl works with a vocal coach, so I think it is just Axl...he has always done things his own way (also, if he has a cold it will affect his vocals on the day of the show. I also think he has to regularly manage the vocal cords damage, which he had suffered back in June/ July, this year) :) Also, you are correct, he is still a badass as always (in the best way). He uses his rasp less than he did in the 80's & 90's, but he still uses it, carefully & sparingly. Still totally awesome :)

he needs to avoid clean head voice which is used the most in gnr songs, gotta be all with drive technique and use more chest and falsette (super ultra high scream that was used in ac/dc). Deeper voice than chest is also good, between the 4 types of voice he need to avoid the clean head voice, just this. Yes I'm an expert in gnr songs.

@@yt.12, I am glad that you are an expert, that is great :) Personally, I am never going to claim to be an expert on anything in life (I have been a fan since 1990 & I love GnR just as much as I did the first day I heard of them), but I do know a couple things: 1) Axl is working with a vocal coach. 2) Axl has the choice on how to sing his own songs, during his band's concerts. 3) Axl sounds incredible, during Live performances (it is unfair to judge his vocals, from on-line recordings).

Herbert from family guy melded with 21st Century Bob Dylan is a weird mix, but there Axl is. (Don’t worry, I can hear Slash mentally updating his fantasy football roster during his solos.) Coming here after the 92 Chicago performance is … something.
