Don't forget there is soluble and insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber, like potatoes and bananas, are easy on the gut, while the insoluble fiber, like broccoli and celery, are harder on the gut.

Research suggests that low fiber diets are important during a flare, but as soon as the symptoms start to pass you should increase prebiotic soluble fiber still avoiding insoluble fiber or roughage to cultivate a healthy gut microbiome.

Love your accent! Thanks for the video. I constantly alter my diet. Trying new things. One thing I did notice is that fiber is really good for you. I thought I had to stay away from it but it's really good. Just have to introduce it little by little and not getting too much of it either. Like you said, do research and talk to your doctor.

Hi I've been on every drug you can think of I have crohns colitis. I have had it 5 years nearly now, but it's basically kicked my arss alot off the time since having it. I'm currently on vedolixamab which has given me bad side effects which every medication seems to do for me. I haven't had it this week like I'm supposed to because I keep getting sick so they stop it for now. They want me to go on a self injection instead but I Just can't handle that. I have alot of nurses helping me but mentally it takes it toll, they just keep putting medication on me, but when you get so many bad side effects all the time and don't actually feel 100% better I think what's the point. I haven't been medication free the whole time I've had this illness and really want to try it. It's just alot to deal with and knowone understands unless they have it. So I really appreciate videos like this because I hadn't a clue before, and knowone ever tells you about it. So thank you, and glad you are doing well 🙏🤗

Hey! I have it too, I've been experiencing nausea, stomach pain and vomit for a month or so. I've just done a couple of exams so I hope I'll know what's going on soon. According to my doctor (who's great!) it could be something not related with crohn or a rare form of crohn that affects the stomach

Hey May I add that crohns disease can affect the entire GI system that includes the mouth, esophagus, stomach and of course the gut. I have had ibd for 2 years nausea is an large part of my life. what helps is making sure to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks and staying hydrated. Ginger helps also.

So, I ended up going to the Cleveland clinics intestinal failure unit here the in states to get some answers. My Calprotectin fecal test came back abnormal at 168.1, the prep for my colonoscopy stopped working 12 hours in, so that procedure was a no go, and it looks like gastroparesis is a new dx being added. But I don't have celiac disease!

I was on humira which made me very Ill .. As my crohns is to far gone.. Long story short I was misdiagnosed with IBS.. So didn't find crohns disease until. To late as my whole small bowel is diseased. Now effecting my large bowel.. And also my liver enzymes so waiting for liver scan.. They suspect disease or damage!!!

Hi, I also have crohn's in the terminal ilieum along with a few other locations, I tried Azathioprine which did nothing at all, I've 4 different biological options, Humira (adalimumab) helped get me into remission for a few years. I'm currently struggling to get it under control but the meds work differently for each person. Good luck 🤞

i've had colitis for 3 years and not stopped bleeding for 3 years. every day. i've had steroids, azathioprine, imfliximab, salofalk and had heehaw remission. I've now realised that Doctors know nothing. There's an inbalance in the gut of microbiome bacteria and we need to correct that and vegan is not the answer people. She may be able to tolerate this and veggies DO NOT sort out your microbiome. these need to be fermented. please do not follow this advice if ur on a severe flare as veg is roughage and it will rip ur gut apart. Yes respect ur body and everyone is diff. she talks alot of sense about mindfulness etc but exercise, especially lifting, not running will help. Watching this vid has confirmed that she knows nothing about how the gut microbiome works. there are more nutrients in meat than a bucket of veg. she is right in one thing. research, research, research. Veganism is a dangerous diet for IBD and i implore everyone to take this with a pinch of salt. everyone is diff. carnivore diet is the way to go. i'm glad she's in remission but she also says it may not work for you. mike heal ur gut guy knows his stuff re microbiome and goes in depth about it. she is one good success story but veganism is bad for ur gut.

U are so right... In so many ways.. I've had crohns disease I'm now so bad its effecting my liver.. So waiting for liver scan.. They thinking possible liver damage.. I've been on everything.. Not on anything now.. Apart from pain relief.. And liquid antibiotics.. Also fortisips.. Are my main food intake now.. Crohns and colitis needs so much more looking in to..

Yep DOCTORS know absolute 💩 all. Mine came about as being misdiagnosed in 2016 with IBS!!!! Until my mum in 2017 sed my daughter is ill so had MRI scan on small bowel and every bit of my small bowel is diseased. Now I'm classed as terminal. Absolutely nothing has worked.

Hi Mark, thank you for your comment - I appreciate everyone's views and opinions on this page. Please note that I make it VERY clear that I am speaking from my own personal experiences and that I am in no way medically trained or able to give advice to others. Secondly, I think it's a little unfair to say that it is 'confirmed' that I do not know what I'm talking about - please also do some research, especially into the specific individuals I list in my video, to understand my viewpoint and knowledge. Regarding micro biome, I have a video on this with a dentist - please feel free to watch that :) Whilst I applaud free speech and opinions, I also do not encourage negativity and especially do not tolerate people within the IBD community shaming one another for different successes, whatever their journey. Also! My doctor did not recommend a vegan diet, so this has been my own exploratory and discovery, backed up by lots of research and data - luckily for me, on this diet, I have been in remission for 2 years. Wish you all the luck to get your UC under control; I am so sorry to hear that no medication seems to be working for you and would be genuinely interested to hear how your journey proceeds. Lo x
