Been there many times. Never tried it. I wouldn't go in that way but can't imagine the stones it takes to go in facing the wall. Makes the first turn easier so it seems. Will probably not ever try it. Too many other fantastic runs at JHMR to risk an injury trying Corbet's.

tbh I would just traverse to the left and do 1 jump turn, a full 180 one, and just traverse back into the couloir. The easiest way to get in imo but I've never tried it

That is the traditional way to do it but how the Goat Path formed it was possible to enter without doing a 180(or so) jump turn. After this guy did it a local pro went in 'backwards' also. Sliding down is a little more awkward and probably helps if you are comfortable skiing switch.

@@travisbacon1974 whys it called the goats path if you don't mind me asking

@@ezpznoob8092 so mountain goats are known for finding paths on insane terrain that is difficult to navigate. The entrance you see there is so difficult/awkward that it is called “the goat path” as if only a mountain goat could get through it

@@S-K69 I am willing to bet that the goat path would look as narrow to you as it always has to me if you were standing above it looking down Corbets.

in mountain biking we would call it a hip. So air up to the transfer then ski down the wall. Easy!

seems reasonable. but once you ve gone down so low everuthing is easier as you dont enter with the excessive speed that prevents you from quickly turning .

You're right. Dropping in so low you can actually get your speed under control, even on hard pack, before you reach the southeast wall.
