hello, to have the transverter do you still need an internal hardware modification? or just access the menu? thanks a lot '73 de IZ7XHJ

No mods at all to the radio, Just the transverter and the cable to connect it to the radio, Then put the radio onto 28.000 mhz go into the transverter menu and pick the band the transverter is for , If the transverter is for 2 mtrs when you turn on the 2 mtr transverter option in the menu the display will change from 28.000 mhz to show 144.000 mhz although the radio is still on 28.000 mhz the display alters to correspond with the transverter so its easier to use and know where you are frequency wise when the display is showing the true frequency.

How about a video showing how you've hooked your transverter to the 850? Anything to watch out for? 73 de NB1U

Its straight forward Mark, Inline as you would a vswr meter , Run it to 13.8 volts from your power supply, You will also need to switch it to TX as there isnt a Carrier operated circuit in it, I just hooked it upto the ACC jack on the 850 as you would if connecting up a linear amplifier ....
